    Much like they seem to be concentrating on the Ampol Block Train Tankers - not the Freight Australia ones. FA wagons seem to have disappeared off the radar after 5 years waiting. Adding to the insult is a lack of email replies.

    Packs of 10 assorted wagons for $350 instead of $450 and there's 2 car packs (only available if you order the 10 packs) to make up the prototypical 32 car load for $70 instead of $90.

    No "when" is mentioned.

    Those eligible for the coal hopper price reduction offer should have by now received a 2nd update which confirms the duration of the offer and notes "These hoppers will be arriving in June 2018."

    Of course, the silence may have been ,more from, the potential customers?  No demand might be the real silence?
    However the Queenslanders are being looked after pretty well in this second decade by more than just one Company. Well done, I say!!

    Could be.  There was deafening silence when Mr Austrains talked about releasing, a '1400' (iirc), too. *shrug*

    The question is, if we want a 2000 class (and I do), which company should we collectivly focus our demands on (given the size of the QR market, I don't think it's be viable for two companies to release the same model.  We've already got two companies releasing 2400's, albeit years apart)?  SRM, Wuiske, or QSM (who still have the CAD files for the brass project, iirc).

    If they were starting from scratch my money would be on the Wuiske Asylum springing something on us.

    There was deafening silence when Mr Austrains talked about releasing, a '1400' (iirc), too. *shrug*

    To be fair to John, the 1400 was part of a package deal with models of VR T320-346.

    When Auscision (sorry, BRM) produced the T class unannounced, the whole project was canned.

    Auscision could have produced the 1400 using their T class tooling but decided not to...

    Austrains were going to build the CFCLA TL class and the Hong Kong units (which were test run in Australia) as well as the 1400.

    Austrains couldn't make the 1400 class loco in HOn 3-1/2 using their standard mechanism, (used in the other T classes) and there was a lot of criticism on that point. But the 1400 would have been made had Auscision not released their T class first.

    I must have missed Southern Rail's announcement about the 16 or so additional 48ft container packs they will be producing. There is some good variety there.

    There are also numerous container variants illustrated. I wonder whether they will materialise into actual tooling variations?

    Didn't think there was much of a wait for these locos. My recollection was that from announcement to delivery was a relatively short period of time compared with some of the other manufacturers with their recent deliveries.

    Yes, I was very impressed with how short it took, Only about 18 months.
    I'm still waiting for mine (25 in green with sound) because I bought it through Australian Modeller just the other day. I might put up a review up once It arrives.

    I have just taken delivery of a Southern Rail Models 10 class locomotive. In all respects this model exceeds my expectations – it is nicely detailed, everything is correctly proportioned, and it runs beautifully. Great job, Southern Rail!

    here is a link to a photo of the model, straight out of the box, and yet to be fitted with the supplied air hoses
