My documents are in storage at present so can anyone provide me with some dates of passenger trains on the Rosewater loop.

I would like to know when

1 The Redhen anniversary train ran via Rosewater.

2. The last regular passenger service ran      29th May 1988

3. The Flying Scotsman ran to Outer  Harbor way.

4. When was the Barossa wine train moved to the NRM?


Also when the last freight train ran there as well. 2008??

Does anyone also know when the last crew training trips ran on the line?

Have there been any other passenger trains between Dry Creek and " the port" in recent times?

And last question.
When was the standard gauge opened?   Answered 1981.

The most recent use of the line for passenger trains less passenger's was to get Adelaide Metro railcars to and from the Outer Harbor line during a shutdown closer to Adelaide a while back. Unfortunately the line broad gauge anyway is now cut at Dry Creek, they removed the crossings over the standard gauge track. Thus rendering it impossible to do the same again while current works are being done. And I would assume that with Adelaide Metro putting in a new section of track to Port Dock again that the Rosewater loop will be history as I have heard it could be turned into a bikeway/walkway type of thing.

Are you able to provide any actual answers to the questions I asked originally?

I need the specific dates to answer a response from somebody and the events I  mentioned are important to the context of the answer.

That I cannot help you with dates etc, someone will probably have the dates handy and hopefully post them up for you.

The "Mary MacKillop" bridge (yes that's the name of the rail bridge) opened for traffic in July 2008 and hence bought about a almost immediate halt to any freight on the Rosewater Loop
The old rail line between Glanville and Birkenhead was cut permanently by August 2008 to allow the completion of the adjacent road Bridge western approach
