Diverging slightly off-topic, but can you point me at some details of what is happening in at Minto? I travel past it on my daily commute and haven't seen any signs of construction equipment. Traffic is definitely growing out of that little siding there with both the intermodal and Hops processing plant, so I can see the need for additional capacity. It is my understanding that this is regular as there is product required that moves north from Melbourne for Visy. Stand to be corrected. Its regular until Feb/March at this stage whilst upgrading works are happening at Minto in Sydney. Its running down there 6 days a week at the moment.
Caught the 08.48 from Castlemaine to Bendigo this am. The Rice train with G, B, S class locos was stabled in Bendigo yard on the Up at around 9.15am. Is this normal, was it awaiting a path or was it a fail last night? It was a late runner out of Melbourne yesterday morning. It went through Bendigo on the Down at 2pm, and returned into the yard around 3:30am this morning from Deni. Possibly ran out of crew hours or was put away due to the risk of running into Sunbury peak hour...
