QBX001 and QBX004 on on the down through Broadmeadows at about 1250, just trailing behind the Midday Down Albury Pass.

It ran on Saturday as well.

I thought this train ran once a fortnight on a Sunday, now all of a sudden its run at least 3 of the last 4 days. Anybody know what the story is?

How interesting.  Is this train in addition to the train from Harefield to Port Botany?

From my reading of the thread and ARTC's timetables, it appears it is.   Whilst I know that the services are about the Vizy contract and I know from observation that these are heavy, long trains, it makes me wonder if it still doesn't allow the potential for QUBE to add any through SYD/MELB traffic in both directions???

The inbound train to Melbourne derailed last night on the goods line.  L277 (ex Comalcounit) had to rescue the train dragging it back into Melbourne after some hours.  QBX units have been replaced for the harefield return which has departed.

My daughter was on last night's XPT; she text' me to say they were being bussed to Broadmeadows because of a derailment. I wondered what had happened.

Rumour network says one traction motor came free of the axle. All QBX withdrawn until further notice. ATSB looking at it.

What other regular working do the QBX locomotives provide for Qube?
