8168 and BL31 arrived early morning in Portland with another PN grain.
And thundered through Heywood about an hour ago, to fetch another load.

No grain ships been or scheduled so far. Eleven trains so far (will count them later), need about twenty four, maybe more for a full ship load.8168 and BL31 arrived early morning in Portland with another PN grain.Do you (or anyone else for that matter) know if any of this grain has been shipped out yet?
Seems like there has been a lot of grain in over the last couple of weeks.

G520 and 8156. Tag teaming with 8168 and BL31 it seems.Port of Portland website doesn’t have any grain ships listed to arrive up to the 19th of Jan.None as yet for the whole month but that could change within days, Graincorp has a few listed but no dates or ship names yet.

Another PN grain here today.
Probably a silly question but are grain trains in Victoria hauled by 2 x 81 class common, unusual or rare?We used to get a lot of double 81s in Portland, I think it just depends on what locos are available.
Most of the recent reports that I have seen involve an 81 and a G or BL (whatever).
Is this planned, just the way the cookie crumbled or is it done to meet crew preferences, perhaps?
I have just read on Gheringhap loop page that an SCT Grain train ran on the DN last night onto a western SG line. Does this mean a new competitor for SG in Vic? Can anyone confirm? Are you referring to SCT or SSR? SSR ran a grainie to Nhill a couple of days ago as reported by @Michelle12 in the Misc Vic sightings thread.

The locos pulling the train are stated CM3315 (CF) & CM3313 (CF) with 41 grain hoppers.Could be an error by @GheringhapLoop ? CM3313 and CM3315 have been on lease to Qube for quite some time and with the current motive power problems they are having I would be surprised it they have given up the hire of them, they need every horse they can get at the moment!

PN grain departed, another QUBE crew training train on it's way, same locos as yesterday.
The facebook group is set to private, meaning you need to be a member to view the photos. Probably couldn't share the pictures to the wide world.PN grain departed, another QUBE crew training train on it's way, same locos as yesterday.
There are a couple of pictures, yesterday and Saturday of the CFCLA CM3013 " The Trump " and CM3015 " Poseidon " on the facebook page, I've lived in Hamilton,Victoria, but coming from a moderately prehistoric time, I'm not sure how to share the link or flog the photo's, so if someone else can, they are quite good pictures.
