Hi all, just curious for some factual info regarding rail accidents / derailments at Callington on the south line. I'm aware there has been a few over the years, but am not sure of exact details of them. (Loco info, exact location, etc, etc). Would be appreciative of any info or photos anyone may have. Thanks!Comrails has some info http://www.comrails.com/sar_locos/r_930.html#930
There was a book years back about rail accidents in Australia and this might be of help to you if you can get access to one. A library might be able help you or even a rail society, club etc or something. There have been quite a few accidents over the years though not only near Callington but elsewhere as well that might interest you. The ones in the book are listed in date order and give a potted story as to what happened though. The State Library of South Australia has one in the South Australiana Collection.
The book is called "Australian Railway Disasters" and is authored by Kenn Pearce it was published by IPL Books in Sydney in 1994.
Hope that helps a bit!
