And don't come back with "Don't shoot the messenger".

People who spread rumours are innately gullible. Given your blatant anti-Andrews stance, it's little wonder that you posted what you did.

Sport? Not sure I would agree with that.

So how should I put my money where my mouth is?

You must have a short memory.  I recall paying the last Liberal Government the same respect, perhaps I was even more direct. I think Andrews has done a poor job but that is just me, well no, I think you would find more than just me who think that.

Then I imagine the world under Matthew Guy could be a lot worse. Ah, well could it?

I think there have been many more polluting road projects announced under this ALP government than the liberals and let's not forget the ALP has  just announced this week they are widening the freeway to the west from the bridge to how many lanes you ask?  12 I say.  12?  Surely not.

But back to the thread theme, yes, it has been put to me it has been raised at ALP level that Danielson may need to shift.

No, I was directly questioning Bevans' claim, which he still can't substantiate.

Not a claim, a rumour from within and when you consider he holds his seat by 2.8% it starts to make sense.

There was recently a 5.6% swing in Northcote again the ALP.

Towards the Greens, not the Libs. Are you suggesting that there's been some sort of flower revolution in Mulgrave since 2014?

LD, any idea based on the last election if Libs and Greens did a preference deal would Dapper Dan have a chance of being tossed out?

The swing was against the ALP.  Not suggesting anything of the sort with Mulgrave and I come back to my previous post. Simply sharing some info which was provided to me on the weekend.  Rumour is the ALP is looking at the seat of Mulgrave and may look to move Andrews.  There is no more info.

Yep, that's fine, no probs.

Just have the courage to revive this thread when candidate nominations are set, to admit that you were foolish to listen to your source. In return, however slight the chance, if you are indeed right, feel free to pay out on me as much as you like. I don't take valid criticism personally.

I will always maintain that rumour-mongers should be given short shrift. If they have something to contribute then it should be proven. Rumours such as the one you are running with, namely ''looking to shift" or the like are ridiculous.

Imagine if I spread a rumour that I heard from someone who held a certain position that someone 'could be considering' something or other? How flippin' ridiculous! Your wife 'could be considering' something or other; is that a rumour worth any oxygen? Of course not!

If you are going to quote a rumour, then at least also state the source of the rumour, so that other readers can judge for themselves if there is any factual basis.  It's not good enough to just say "rumour has it that........" and leave it at that.  If you can't (or don't want to) quote the source of a rumour, then don't mention it at all, because it means nothing and could be completely fictitious.

ALP has a mixed bag of rail and road projects. I don't agree entirely with their major road projects they have announced. West Gate Tunnel is basically a cheaper west-east link, obviously a blunder. North East Link is a very very expensive ring road completion project, still has some merit in the longer term.

But the LNP hasn't announced a single rail project in its election platform.
They have supported the North East Link before Dan's announcement
Continue supporting the East West Link
And announced to replace the LX removal project with their road grade seperation project
They want to delay the Metro tunnel to add a single station to the project
West Gate Tunnel is basically the west-east link so I bet they would of supported it if it doesn't include extension of the tolls on citylink.

ALP will announce a major rail project next, and its the airport rail link. If they were smart, they could tackle a rail extension to Clyde as well. They do support a Melton electrification. They are also looking at adding stations on RRL.

It is awesome seeing all the projects in one webpage. Interesting to see whether the current government are looking at new projects.

Am I the only one who noticed that on the mind map Jacinta Allan and Luke Donellen are connected to each other but not to anything else?

Does this mean that they talk to each other but nobody else?

Just remember taxpayers, someone on a coupla hundred K/year or more got paid to do that to help you to understand Victoria's Big Build!!!!!!!

It means that as Ministers in the Andrews administration that after the policy work and community discussion is completed about the projects, they step back and let the people with the knowledge get on with it.

Nice try, but I don't think so.

Allan and Donellen are two of the nine responsible ministers for DETJR. The Westminster system requires both to be far more engaged with the Department than simply setting policy.

The most likely explanation is that someone stuffed up when moving the graphic to the web site, and someone else has stuffed up checking.

Well...I know that once the policy settings, project deliverables (the benefit of the project) and allocated funding are in place...that's it, unless there's a monumental stuff-up.

Ministers attend progressions of projects and ribbon cutting ceremonies, usually with some media in tow.

The monumental stuff-up for the sky rail on the Dandenong line is the total lack of provision for a third (and fourth) rail, thus condeming Gippsland passengers to a slow trip through the suburbs for decades. Once the HCMTs come on line with additional services packed in, the situation will be worse! Mike, you can sit back and enjoy your 130 Kmph ride along the RRL, but the lack of forward thinking on the Gippsland line is criminal, I wrote to the transport minister pointing the enormous time difference between a Bendigo train and a Traralgon train (the same distance from Melbourne), but didn't receive a sensible reply. Just some nonsense about Gippsland trains not needing an improved path through the suburbs for the next 30 years. What rubbish!!Sad

L115  oops, I seem to have put my reply in the wrong place in the text of Mikes post. Mods please fix.
