    GSR are running a special short IP consist out to Two Wells and return today

    Train Number 1AT8 / 1TA8

    8050 Power car HGM903; ARJ984; Lounge AFC306; Dining DF 964; Lounge AFC939; Baggage HM957

    Consist & Loco docked in APT Platform 1 at 12:30pm (after Ghan 1AD8 departed)

    I’m waiting for it at Gawler River road crossing. I admit today is not a good day for it to run with bad weather. Hope it departed APT on time & I aim to get a photo & some video

    I suspect 8050 might have taken a run through the carriage wash at APT whilst said wash was running!

    Is there a reason the train was given an interstate train number although it was an intrastate train?

    I agree it is a bit unusual as the T is listed as Taree - Murwillumbah (NSW) not Two Wells

    But GSR called it 1AT8 / 1TA8

    Perhaps they are the second train operator to use fake AT/TA train numbers in communications rather than actual ARTC train numbers?

    Those who needed to know the real one would have known it.

    On the GWA network they can make up their own numbering system that doest need to take any notice of the ARTC one.
