The whole train plus crew car.
Question, how does PN rotate the 81 class through Portland/Victoria for maintenance? I guess the first question is where is their maintenance done, and then second is if in NSW, how do they run the train schedules to get them back for maintneance?Maintenance of the 81s is mainly carried out in Port Kembla, but also pass through Kooragang or Morandoo if required. They are transferred via MW2/WM2 then WB3/BW4 if they are going to Newcastle. How do they get to Melbourne I hear you ask, well that can happen one of two ways, either they are rostered to work a train back to either the Port of Geelong or the Port of Melbourne or they are collected by AM5 and the reverse is done to get them back up country.
PN grain train arrived about 0345, think it's BL26 and G523, will check later.Speaking to a mate in Cavendish, earlier and he said trucks nose to tail, on the Henty Highway, lately, took 15 mins to cross the road to the pub and too hard to cross on the way home, so he's been there 4 days.
Grain ship also arriving this morning but I think will be loading from trucks with the portable loader so no extra trains for this.
Still no grain trains or ships. Before they make complete fools of themselves someone might want to tell them that while the Maroona > Portland line is under ARTC control and the MBRP project under Victorian control and never the twain shall meet it is highly unlikely that they would use the same contractors.
