Begin!God-damn you sir, I wanted to have my name on the first Scott Morrison's-days-are-numbered thread! Wasn't quick enough.
Not actually, I just typed quickly.Begin,Given the time of your post, I suspect that you had this, and the other each way bet, ready and waiting for the submit/cancel button to be hit.
Turnbull played this well, he realised he had no numbers but managed to hold off the vote until Morrison could gain the numbers. Nice work Dutt’s you lose too!The NSW Right are going to destroy Morrison just like they did Turnbull - and they'll be aided and abetted by Ray Hadlee and Alan Jones...
The big difference though is that Morrison was loyal and didn't knife anyone just threw his hat into the ring once Turnbull had been told he had lost the support of the party room. So when the far right harp on about him many back benchers and others who are heartily sick of the whole business will probably just ignore them.Turnbull played this well, he realised he had no numbers but managed to hold off the vote until Morrison could gain the numbers. I just love that everyone got it wrong, Dutton, the media, everyone that I heard said Dutton was the next PM.
I reckon a couple of MPs who had said privately that they had been pressured changed there mind at the last.
BG (edit as the Dubya from my whole fell into a hole)
So you really think people will vote in the ALP instead? The party that practically invented political knifings of sitting PMs? Goes right back to Hawke being stabbed by Keating.nope, I just think that the moderates are going to drift to the ALP (yeah the bit we disagree on) and while the LNP shall have its identity crisis the more 'Right' votes will drift to Katter and Hanson. My Prediction, though Probably wrong and thus the revolving door and political cycle continue.
Hello Brendan -So Don, I understand that you live in my home state of South Australia. You have even chosen as your Nom de type one of the most famous figures in SA political history. I also understand that you spent some time in Victoria. Were you born here?
Honestly didn't even see that I'd typed that -Hello Brendan -So Don, I understand that you live in my home state of South Australia. My name is Brenton. I don't expect people from East of Serviceton to get it right but I certainly do expect people from SA. SA is after all the only place where Brenton is a popular choice of Christian name. It's not that hard. But it is common courtesy.
BG
Careful BG or you will become a grumpy old bastard like me ..............I've been a grumpy bastard for years YM. I kinda like it. Normally I don't care about people thinking my name is Brendan. Or Quentin. Or Trenton. But Don Dunstan? I was born in Adelaide between his Premierships. He should know better! It's not your fault that you were born in SA.
So you really think people will vote in the ALP instead? The party that practically invented political knifings of sitting PMs? Goes right back to Hawke being stabbed by Keating.By my count, its only 3-2 in favour of the ALP at present. And at least one failed attempt on either side too.
It has been going on for much longer than that. Hawke did over Bill Hayden before going on to win the "drover's dog" election. Billy McMahon challenged John Gorton twice, first unsuccessfully then ultimately winning the leadership of the Libs in 1971 and then losing to Whitlam in 72.So you really think people will vote in the ALP instead? Keating - Hawke (1st failed, second succeeded)
Gillard - Rudd
Rudd - Gillard
Turnbull - Abbott (1st failed, second succeeded)
Dutton of course failed twice, as Morrison jumped over him in his second attempt.
The knives have seen more use in the back of Opposition leaders.
