There is a proposal on the table for a major new interface with the developments on the south side of werribee and the princess freeway that will deal with the Galvin Rd crossing.
As a local resident that uses all these crossings in werribee the cherry st and hoppers options as proposed look pretty good and by and large will be supported i think. Only proposed land acquisition is a motel site in hoppers, which should be a good windfall for them. Anything up to $1.5-$1.75m i would think.
am not sure there will be much support for option 2 at cherry st. aside from the big hole they will need to dig, because of the oil pipeline being there it will delay the project considerably. They have to have 2 years notice before a shutdown of it.
Am seeing a lot of comments on facebook around single lanes in the artist impressions. People need to remember that they are just that, artist impressions, as well as being no more than what they have now.
The werribee st crossing is probably about as good as they could get without spending a lot more coin. I was hoping for a more substantial re-work of the whole area traffic wise, but they clearly feel they cant do it within their breif. Option 2 here wont get any support.
Agreed that while the works are being done there will be no BG past werribee station. The wyndhamvale connection gives them the ability to do that with ease. No disruption to downtrack passenger or freight services. There are restrictions on the amount of time the SG can be closed per year, which i think from memory is something like 36 hours. Closing the BG and moving the SG over as far as they can will be the only way of doing this.
