I have had some second thoughts re the Thunder Bird
She was very slow discharging at Port Adelaide, as she had to remove tween decks, and stack these on the wharf
You can see the tweens in front of the prime mover @

The first 4 locos discharged were therefor on the tank tops, appeared to have been stacked slightly towards the bow, from a center line between the cranes
Located ship plans, tank tops are 13.5 meters wide, so locos stacked 4 wide. until I located the drawings, was thinking 3 locos wide
Possibility that the 5th loco discharged was on a tween deck, aft of where the initial 4 2250 discharged were stowed
So there is room in the vessel for 5 x 2170 (or should we now call them 35800's?), 4 on the tank tops, aft of where the 2250 were stowed, with the 5th on the tween deck above
