Well, either someone's fixed the php problem or internet traffic is virtually non-existent this morning as, unlike the last few days, I can visit a forum and then return to the main page again repeatedly without getting the "server over loaded' messages.Speed is improved, but functionality seems reduced. Actually seems I'm experiencing the same symptoms as @don_dunstan.
Maybe they finally 'turned it off and then on again' - always a good one to try as any IT person will tell you.

I'm having an issue whenever I click on 'New forum posts' I get redirected to an outage page. Also the thread edit options menu has disappeared.
I am going to look seriously into a company in India who can manage and further develop the site forming a user committee to assist and plan out the new features. We should be able to get a developer on this full time for around 1500 AUD per month. How about trying for a local developer first? I'm sure there's plenty looking for work at the moment.
That is sure but how to find one?Perhaps @Fatty was volunteering?
It is running better after increasing the number of PHP sessions available to the web server but the front page is the key and seems load slower at times.I really don't understand how a site that had been until recently performing quite well can suddenly grind to a halt due to "code issues"...
If the code is changed slightly, even if it is a single word, it can break the site.
For A$1500 you would get about at most 3 days work out of a local dev, maybe. No way you would get one to the standard needed here for less that $60/Hour on contract, double that if you went through an agency. Railpage is big enough 2-3 Dev's could work on it easily 5 days a week. Issue then is cost, and I'm sure Brian and any others that are the "owners" of the site are not made of money, and are probably flat out paying for what it's costing them as it is. There's a reason Indian IT companies do so well - cheep labor.I am going to look seriously into a company in India who can manage and further develop the site forming a user committee to assist and plan out the new features. All options but regular text in the quick reply section and edit post section removedI just managed to do a formatted post (adding a quote and some bold text) and disagree with your post.
