So I've done a poke around. Try as hard as I can, I cannot access Railcams, as it throws the "unavailable" page.

I also think the problem could be related to the railcams module.
bevans
I suspect you're correct.

Developer meetings are being held over the past 2 days and we are progressing to a new approach to service delivery.  It may now involving completing the work MGH started on PHP7 and new features which involves the DEV site.  This is starting to look good.

Pretty impressive news item on the home page this afternoon, with Gold Coast Light Rail stage 2 now underway, in the lead-up to 2018 Commonwealth Games.

They have all been reported previously in the Bugs and Feedback threads. I would hope that these had already been compiled into a list, or what was the point of the threads?

Packet Loss issues again this morning.  Fault has been reported.  I fear we need to invest in some new switching gear which I can cover.

I also got this error message from my anti malware provider when accessing the Railpage website.

"firefox.exe attempted to establish a connection relying on an expired certificate to api.railpage.com.au. We blocked the connection to keep your data safe since web pages must renew their certificates with a certification authority to stay current, and outdated security certificates represent a risk."

Could this be related to your issue.

No, expired certificates wouldn't cause packet loss. Packets aren't reliant on certificates.

I will update the cert anyhow but this is not the issue.  It is packet loss on certain routes in and out of the data centre.

Dear Users, I think you will find we have success.

Please let me know if we have any issues still.  basically we are out of internet capacity as site traffic is very very high.  I am going to buy some new internet capacity for next week.

My observation (using an iPad) is that the home page gets stuck until I open another window to load another page. At which time, both pages seem to load concurrently.

Once into the home page, forums etc load quite promptly.

There are still some packet issues on the network outside of RP and I have ordered a new internet link.  The home page makes a lot of API calls to various locations which is why it is a little slower but on its way to being fixed completely.

What has become very clear is the issues we have been experiencing over the past few weeks have been the direct result of an attack from the internet from at the moment unknown hosts. Someone or a group have been deliberately attacking the IP addresses Railpage runs on with a view to causing service degradation.

We have setup tools today to find the IP addresses.

Not sure if this is also a part of the problem but it cases longer to login these days what a month ago.

Looking at the online users there is always betwee 250 and 300 online could this be just busy or is Same issue with networking ?
