Back on topic, tonights covid shutdown themed episode, despite the massive hype, was also a massive anticlimax in my opinion. Furthermore, Xavier is gone, which is a good thing since he was a very boring housemate who did very little in the house.

The invention of the word 'strategical' annoys me....

I think they need to put Dan and Mat up against each other in a vote.  That bloc is too powerful still.

Well we all know what happens whenever you try and take down the key guys in the Alpha group – if you lose then your the next one out – ala Shane the other week. Chipping away at the sides of the Alpha group first by nominating Casey and Xavier is actually a really smart move plus one i would have made if i was the winner.

Last night though if they were both put up, you would have eliminated 2 strong strategists, but also 2 contenders for challenge wins.  Casey will go with the flow, and yes Xavier would still be there, but Dan and Mat will support each other to the very end.

Marissa got voted out tonight which was rather unexpected as i was expecting Casey to be the next one who goes. Furthermore, i do feel sad about Marissa going because her, along with Angela and Kieran and Ian, are all housemates who i rather like.

Was she a part of the Kieran alliance?

They were in the same faction but i would hardly call Kieran any form of alliance leader....

It is clear that if you over play this game you re gone.  Angela, Garth, Marissa, all made the same mistakes.  Dissapointing as i do think she would have kept things interesting.  But also she was tarred wth the Angela brush from a few rounds ago which is no doubt lingering on the minds of the remaining housemates.

Dan and Matt are locked in with each other and are playing it the best.  Not that i particularly am fans of either of them...

To think I'm missing all of this. We only had Biggles and Superman on radio when I was a kid.

Wasn’t it called a wireless?Laughing

Anyway, how much coin does the winner of BB pocket, please?

I haven't watched any of BB except that "forced" on me in ads, however I was impressed by Mat Garrick as a Think Tanker.

The Big Brother Alliances are as follows:

Alpha - Dan, Matt, and Casey.
Beta - Chad, Sophie, and Sarah.
Extra - Kieran, (previously Angela and Marissa too).

Meanwhile Each episode of BB 2020 appears to follow the exact same rundown that is filmed over 2 days:

- Intro shots of the cliffs.
- 15 minute household task.
- 15 minute nominations challenge.
- 5 minute nomination announcement.
- 15 minute eviction scramble.
- 15 minute eviction ceremony.
- 5 minute exit interview.
- End credits.

For next season, I would be quite happy if they just abolish the 15 minute household task and instead show us 15 minutes of the housemates just being housemates.

That is impossible. Genuine housemates work together for the mutual good; this mob spends its time plotting and scheming to get rid of people until there's only one left.

Ha so you do watch it!!

This season is different though as it uses a different voting model.  Previously there was no talk about nominations and voting - it was against the rules.  Now it is actively encouraged.  This season blends survivor elements into the game.  It is really survivor in a house to be honest...

Ha; I don't, but anyone who didn't know the plot would be living on another planet.  Different voting model, so what? The aim remains to crap on everyone else for your own good. Imagine living with a mob where you can't trust anybody.

One of my favorite parts of the episode is the eviction scramble where the nominated housemates spend the afternoon pleading their case to their fellow housemates as to why they should not be evicted tonight.

Yes, valvegear has admitted to watching Big Brother on past posts in this thread.

Very neat choice of words, Gayspie. Anybody reading them could well believe that I had admitted to watching regularly. You told the truth, and nothing but the truth, but you didn't tell the whole truth.

The previous post (not "posts") to which you refer said, on 23 June: "Just to bring myself up to speed, I watched some Big Brother last night."

In fact, I watched it that one time in order to make accurate comment; accuracy is an idea you may care to follow.

It is interesting but also is heavily manipulated by the directors I am sure.  There are so many decisions that i would make differently to the housemates given what I see.  Eg why didnt Casey put the couple up?  She should have as it didnt save her in the subsequent nomination.  Also, someone needs to put Dan and Matt up against each other - once one of them is gone the other will be a much weaker opponent.  Sarah should have kept Casey in the house and formed a pair with her as she is very much on her own (Kieran cannot be relied upon).

Meanwhile the housemates evicted Kieran last night with a vote of 3 to nil against Matt but Big Brother magically stepped in just before Kieran walked out the door and gave him a second chance in the white room.

I kind of hate that this is happening this year.  The rules are being made up as they go...

Why pick Kieran for this?  Why not someone else?

Pretty obvious I think - the planners of the program didn't write him out at this stage, so he had to stay.
