It sounds like the Nationals are upset about red tape in obtaining permits to clear land of trees...

It's a corker this one, Gladys gave the Nats an ultimatum today, pull your heads in or lose your ministries.

The Nats can't win this one, policy is seen as city centric by their votors, Barilaro said they would be a laughing stock among their base if they supported it

Great distraction from Covid, bring it AWN! Laughing

If I can read correctly, Lower House, Coalition 35 seats, Nationals 13 seats, = Barraa goneeeee LaughingRazz
  Carnot Minister for Railways

Both Libs and ALP have 36 in lower house, with one Lib MP as speaker.

Nats have 12, Greens 3, Shooters and Fishers 3, Independents 3.

As expected, John Barilaro was rolled this morning by Gladys, he was more or less told to pull his head in, the topic will be brought up in the State Cabinet on October the 6th, where the Nats can put their point of view.

Barilaro is a joke.

He has had more than one go at the Liberals and backs off each time.  Unless you are going to dig your heels in and follow through then you are better off keeping your mouth firmly shut.

About the time Don Harwin was pinged for going to his beach house at (I think) Pearl Beach he headed off to his Southern Highlands property and escaped censure because he was supposedly "going down to mow the lawns".  Yeah right!

At about the time of the Ruby Princess fiasco he came out with the statement that "we need rugby league" when what we needed was some politicians doing what was necessary.

The man is just another politician with a big mouth and not much substance playing politics and Gladdy (and too many others) know it.  Trouble is he is in good company in the Nats, I do not see McCormack any differently, but they are not alone and not just in NSW.
  Carnot Minister for Railways

Barilaro is badly compromised by the Property Development crowd.  While he might not be directly corrupt, political donations from that mob have freely flowed into the Nats coffers. And it shows.

I preferred past Nats leaders like Doug Anthony, Tim Fischer, and John Anderson.

She knew that they'd fold quicker than a house of cards when they realised that their perks and ministries were at risk.

The National Party is completely useless at serving its own constituency - everyone knows that. On this one issue they stood up to their coalition partner for exactly five minutes before caving.

How much can a Koala bear?

Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party will sort something out for the people on the land and the koala up the tree, next election.

"Nationals stand by Barilaro

The NSW National Party is rallying behind leader John Barilaro despite his threat to tear the Coalition apart over koala policy last week.

Senior NSW Liberal MPs have called for Mr Barilaro to reconsider his future, with Police Minister David Elliott calling him "weak".

But Nationals colleague and Minister for Mental Health Bronwyn Taylor said the party wholeheartedly backed Mr Barilaro.

"We have strong strong unity on this ... there are no moves to get rid of John Barilaro. He is very strong and he is our leader," she said."

All we need now is a similar comment from Barnaby and the stupidity will be complete.  I do like Ms Taylor's definition of a strong leader - one who blows his mouth off with the tough talk, and then beats an immediate retreat at the first sign of a good reply.
