The Tours Sub-Committee had a meeting on the 19th of June 2020 to talk about the starting of 1stTuesdayTours again, this was the first meeting since the 4th of March 2020.Since then the speed of change within the Society has changed very rapidly.
As you can see from the Notice with this MNL the Society is about to be wound up.
And here:Enclosed with this mailout is undoubtedly the most important information ever sent to the membership. Please read it carefully. The Special General Meeting to be held on 23 July, as advised in the enclosed Notice, unfortunately can only have a very limited number of attendees due to current COVID19 restrictions.Members are therefore strongly encouraged to complete the enclosed Proxy form and forward it to the Secretary. If you wish to attend in person, you must complete the ballot paper and forward it to the address shown.Successful applicants will be notified a few days before the meeting. If you do send in a ballot paper, you're also encouraged to submit a Proxy Form in case you're unsuccessful in the ballot. The ballot process is seen as the fairest way of determining who can attend. The number who can attend is uncertain, but the number of successful applicants will be whatever the COVID19 restrictions allow. The actions being requested need to be finalized now rather than wait forCOVID19 restrictions to be fully lifted to enable normal meeting to be held.A separate document sets out the Committee's reasons for the actions to be considered by the membership. As previously advised, the Committee has sold off certain parts of the Society's previous operations. This means that this Newsletter doesn't have reports on Newsrail, Museum, Archive or Sales.Additionally the Sales function on our website has been disabled so that it may be transferred to the new organisation.Greg Michael Secretary
