T76 is confirmed to be at Unipart for TTU. It was Phil (Sydney Trains Vlogs) who informed me on Facebook. And has Phil been inside Unipart's workshops by any chance? Have any of us been inside Unipart?
I swear if T72 and T106’s re-entry into service gets delayed again... but let’s hope this is the last of their testing to worry about. Hopefully T76’s upgrade (along with D6249/D6823) fitting won’t take as long as the other two considering all the sets they have to work on.I would rather a delayed launch into revenue service, but have no issues as opposed to rushing them in only to realise there's some issue that could be deadly. T72/T106 could also be being used for crew familiarisation. No good having trains if there's no-one to upgrade them.
And I spotted yet another Hornsby set today with a red Mortdale set plate, T77. The way to tell their depot base is now more confusing than ever!

I’m certain he follows projects, surely a fact. You can follow projects and draw the wrong conclusion which you then spread over social media to your 'followers', who then end up posting it here. I'm sure you can appreciate us being apprehensive about believing this. You spreading it as a fact and refusing to take part in any discussions to the contrary has not assisted us in assessing the overall validity of the content you've posted.
I don’t want anything to do with this thread anymore, thanks to these attacks. And again; this is not an attack on you.
I don’t quite get what could be so difficult and time-consuming about this upgrade given the main changes are the addition of CCTV cameras and LCD screens. Maybe it’s time to try super glue.. :/The TTU was not just about what you can see.
Given it has taken as long as it has, I would definitely support more B sets instead, given that B sets will presumably be better able to advantage of upcoming signalling upgrades.
But as you say, I think it’s all rumour.
There have been rumours going around that a further order of B sets will be taken up, and the TTUP2, alongside the Tangara fleet, will be scrapped. Does anyone have information confirming or denying this?I cannot officially confirm or deny this, or state what information I do have about it, as I was told in confidence, but I am led to believe this is not the correct information.
