The corona virus COVID-19

There will be no more state wide or Melbourne metropolitan lockdowns after this, it will be a more localised response

I'm actually more concerned about life for me and others with chronic conditions after lockdown.... personal responsibility, so in effect lockdown

Anyway are you all set for......

How much is being covered up or not enforced because of 'political correctness'?

Surely the lives and activities of around 5 million other Victorians must count for something. Next we will be going back to quarantining/isolating/locking up at least a million innocent others in surrounding suburbs who have done nothing wrong.

Excuses excuses excuses .............

It's time for enforcement the rules - we cannot even enforce the wearing of masks. The innocent pay whilst excuses are made for the guilty.

This image of the outbreak is quite revealing.

If it comes from VDHS, then it's good that they are preparing it.  But it says lots of other stuff too:
1) Health Care settings/Hospitals in Vic (still) don't have adequate infection control.
2) Schools are not safe (for the community).  The only reason we persist with this myth is the Prime Minister declared they were safe, it's created political pressure to show they are safe, and it's created political pressure to open schools prematurely.
3) Vic Contact tracing (still) isn't able to control outbreaks, though this is a good test.  The seeding event occurred 3 weeks ago, and it's only now being tracked down.

On this basis Vic would be mad to open up just yet - but equally Vics should be pretty pissed off for the failure to address problems that have been obvious for a long time.

Been in lockdown for a while now a few more years won't hurt, problem is medical appointments, house and yard have never been cleaner

It will be Premier Jill Hennessey

I assume the tracing is via station CCTV, so the person boarded at Glenroy, changed trains at North Melbourne and exited at Yarraville, and v.v.
Yep, LOTS of people change on and off Craigieburn services at NM
Agree, but with Yarraville involved why doesn't the warning also include the Werribee and Williamstown lines as well as Craigieburn or is this just another sloppy hole in the Contact Tracing system?
More than likely the Tracing Team members have never been to Craigieburn or Yarraville.
Just demonstrates the cavalier or incompetent level of Victoria at the moment.
YM-Mundrabilla
It's almost as if the DHHS bod in charge of the contact tracing operation has absolutely no idea of how the transport system works in Victoria.

If only there was something that could have provided a clue to prevent this glaring error, maybe a look at how this person performed in their previous employed position?

Considering trains often cross work between lines, the search perhaps should be network wide unless they look into the onboard CCTV.

Having just returned from weekly shopping at Coles (1800 25/10) there were four Coles staff not wearing masks properly or at all plus the inevitable 'immune' half dozen (all young female) customers in the same situation.

I give it until the end of October for Wave 3 to begin in Melbourne caused by ................ .

Dan has postponed reopening Melbourne because of the Nthn Suburbs outbreak.

Regional Vic opening up more on Tuesday night.  Indoor Gyms, churches, pools open to up to 20 people.
At this rate Melbourne may never re-open - between a seemingly over cautious and risk-averse government and a population that doesn't seem capable of following the rules will the cycle ever end?

I was chatting to my Yarraville friends this afternoon and they were amazed that we've never - ever - had to wear masks in public in this state. We have also never needed an excuse to be out of the house or had time or distance limits on where we can be. And now things are pretty much normal here compared to Dictator Dan's world.

There's enough COVID in Melbourne to keep this thing bubbling away forever. By then the joint should be completely wreaked - but people in nursing homes will be safe from COVID at least.

All its gunna take is another Uber driver moonlighting as a security guard at a lockdown venue to go coughing and spluttering across Melbourne and then Dictator Dan will swing into action to "rescue" you all again.

Back into your high-rises, back into your homes. For your own good.

Have you considered the difference between an Individualist Liberal government and a Collectivist Labor government?

Doesn't matter one iota. Someone could test positive tomorrow, so you'd better stay locked up. It's for your own good, you know! Evil or Very Mad

Probably a good thing John Howard banned guns in Australia - the way the people of Victoria are going there could well be a civil uprising down there if they aren't let out of jail tomorrow!

I'm just going to make the point that the extension of the general lockdown could have been prevented if the lockdown of school kids was not released early.

The risk of it triggering outbreaks is the same/similar as if another cohort of half a million was released prematurely.
