They'll be several recounts by the looks of it.  Michigan or Wisconsin could be the States that decide the final result in the end.

Mail in results in both States are proving to be extremely controversial.

Example #3498 of an electoral process that lacks integrity.

Trump has had three years to restore integrity to the electoral process - oh wait a minute Razz

Hear, hear Bing.

The constant defence of the indefensible is really nauseating.

Fair call.  Although I understand significant constitutional amendments would be required - something Trump would clearly not want to do.  And then there's all the divergence between the States, unlike the far more Federal structure we have here.

For a country that is supposedly the most democratic in the world, they have some serious problems organising democracy properly.
I heard that there is over 1000 electoral bodies across the USA.   Vary from state to county controlled and there is no co-ordination between them.   It would be nigh on impossible for any President to change their system to be better organised, as each body believes their system is the best or they will not change because that is the way they have been doing it for 200+ years.

Add to that the fact that much of the vote counting and reporting is coordinated by political parties, and not an independent Govt commission.  It's like putting a bunch of arsonists in charge of the fire station!

Oh gee whizz that's retirement age.. well was
doyle
The issue is there is no public service retirement age (not that this is an issue), so if you cannot be forcible retired working for the govt in an office, then why should it also apply for running the country? As guide not a rule, up until age 75, I would most people I've known including all 4 grandparents on my side and some on wife's side still alive have few issues, especially with industrial occupation issues in the wane thanks to modern OHS and technology. From 75 to 85, for some I think the effects of aging becoming more obvious. All but 1 of my grandparents and some of wife's crossed 80 without major concerns or issues (one grandmother died with no notice of a heart attack), but from there aging seem more pronounced.

Again I doubt very much Biden (with one "d") has a mental issue, what we are seeing is an old guy with a stutter and once in office should there be a problem that becomes noticeable to the public or performance you can bet the Harris and her team move in.

With the count not yet finished, Trump is already (predictably) crying foul, and heading for the courts. If, by some chance, he wins the count will he still consider some of it was fraudulent?

The minimum age to be prez is 35 so shouldn't be hard to do something similar at the other end 65 sounds right to me
I know much older people with a wealth of experience and can play marbles like no other

I agree Biden not demented just way to old
Trump is a just an a r s e h o l e and has narcissistic personality disorder
again way to old

Biden is 3 million votes ahead and increasing as well just to add further legitimacy to the result.

3 million votes is well under 1% of the population, that’s hardly significant, a decent competitor to Trump ought to have seen that margin (and the election as a whole) be not even a close race.

No Aaron, America is divided by race. Trump played to a lot of white people's fear, pure and simple. Trump has not achieved a single thing of note. People just believes his lies.

There are a lot of racists in the US.

Correct.

It looks closer to being the election the Democrats tried to lose but failed.

Both parties need to have a look at what they can do next time around to get higher quality candidates.

I'm disappointed that there's not a clear result because no matter who wins from this point their tenure won't be seen as legitimate (like George W. Bush).

That’s the synopsis I made of the race pages back when I presumed that Trump would win.

I now think Biden has won something he never intended to, he will be like the soccer mum’s who randomly leave their email addresses at Coles and Woolies during their raffle/competition promos wondering what exactly they’ll do with a year’s supply of baked beans.

Are you talking about candidate quality or result?

I cannot be bothered looking them all up, but 2019 was ‘decided’ by well over 1 million votes, with a population less than 10% of the USA that means we had a margin close to 5%, that’s a whole lot better and more decisive than less than 1%.

There are a lot of racists everywhere, ever been to Japan? Austria? Germany? Get used to it, Biden introduced (gleefully) a policy that saw incarceration of blacks increase dramatically, meanwhile black incarceration levels under Trump are the lowest in three decades, hispanics is down 24% it is not as bad as you make it out to be.

Things are hotting up in Georgia, the Republicans currently hold a 9,000 vote margin on the Democrats who are rapidly gaining ground. The difference there is just 0.2%.

The Democrats haven't had a majority in Georgia since Bill Clinton in 1992.

EDIT: Difference is just 3,500 now. 0.1%.

Trump is predictably not taking this well, claiming widespread voter fraud. Despite election officials from the Democrats and the Republicans all saying the processes have been transparent and above board.
