Welcome to Trump town

Vote fell 10 short for conviction. Will Trump be well enough or alive in 2024 to run again?

I hope he disappears quietly into retirement.

As for the 7 Republican senators who crossed the floor - you have spines. The rest don't.
Yes he can, but will he? Unlikely! The only reason the vote for him will improve is if Biden/Harris are completely on the nose. Even going up against Hillary he couldn't manage to get the popular vote so I suspect his advisors will be saying not recommended if he doesn't want to go through a 2nd defeat again.

More likely and was always going to be the case if he won was that he wanted a dynasty with a family member running in 2024. He will likely support this as the Republicans will more likely support it as well.

The Republican's have a shrinking support base as so they will at some point need to engage in more "left" style politics and have and a less white representation. Every time I'd see Ivanka (who is very attractive) with her long blonde hair, pale white skin often dressed in white with hubby in tow, it always reminded me of futuristic (like Hunger games) or other white supremacy type movies. Also like India where Bollywood actresses are often whiter than me.
Man Trump is an absolute git. His loyal Deputy Mike Pence is in hiding fearing for his life. I do not understand the admiration for this guy who would throw anyone under a bus to suit himself. Goodbye Good Riddance, deuces.

He's not completely out of the woods yet:

As someone pointed out, the Confederate flag didn't make it inside the Capitol Building during the Civil War.

I am afraid that this is where the US is at. Disgusting Republicans denying reality. It would be nice for you to actually engage in some critical thinking instead of just saving twitter feeds from absolute loony tunes.

A vile insurrection took place urged by an absolute loser of a president in which 5 deaths took place and they were threatening Congressmen and Women and the Vice President and you are giving credence to this crock.

All the Republicans are good for now are stupid Conspiracy theories and idiotic Culture wars that means nothing and adds Zip to the economic Wellbeing of the US.

Do not assume Conservative supporters support Trump, Trump had support from all sides, but mostly the red-necks part of which in Australia would be hard lined ALP supporters. Seems a bit strange walking onto a factory floor in some parts of the southern US and find the workers are more often than not Republicans.

Trump had to appeal to the generally poorly educated blue collar workers, hence the MAGA movement and Trumps other blatant lies, backed by Murdoch's Fox News which that constituency fell for.

When the pay rises start incrementally, opposed by the way by the GOP, the party they voted for and the public health program starts, the same constituency will likely lean towards their natural political party.

Still whinging about losing the election. So the lies haven't ceased and his fans are as dedicated and insane as they ever were. Speculation about new policies was a furphy.

Henry Kissenger praises the diplomatic achievements of the Trump administration and says that he hopes Biden does more of the same - he was speaking on the 2nd of March at a seminar for the Nixon Foundation;

Kissinger likened Donald Trump’s diplomatic achievements in the Middle East to Nixon’s opening of China in 1972, and warned that the Biden administration should continue the tough Trump policy on Iran.

He also called the Trump administration’s Abraham Accords a breakthrough in Arab-Israeli relations.

“I think that one of the great successes of the previous administration was that they had lined up, that they had achieved two things in the Middle East,” Kissinger said.

“One, to separate the Palestinian problem from all of the other problems so that it did not become a veto over everything else.

He added:

“Secondly, of lining up the Sunni states in actual or potential combination against the Shiite states, which is Iran, that was developing a capacity to threaten them. I think that this was a brilliant concept. We were just at the beginning of it.”

The Abraham Accords, brokered by former President Donald Trump, established new cooperation and normalization between the United States, Israel, and Arab countries such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sudan, and Morocco.

So one of the most brilliant Secretary of State chairs ever praises the peace-making achievements of the Trump administration and not one report on the ABC? Not one mention in Fairfax/Nine?

What a shock. No wonder people like The Vinelander have had their poor little brains so progressively eroded by Trump hatred when they never get anything but bad news about him.

Nah I don't buy that, I think history will be kind to President Trump - all the personality characteristics and abrasiveness are problematic I'll agree  but he did definitely get good things done that have gone unacknowledged.

Article from the Independent Australia by Tarric Brooker about the fact that the banking system, the moribund financial system of the United States inadvertently elected Trump - and they'll elect another Trump (if not Trump himself) again in the future -

Biden's presidency will give you the answer to your question. You are already seeing Biden dither on issues that are close to the hearts of the far left. It is a catch 22 for him and this administration will endure policy paralysis on a range of issues domestic and foreign despite having majorities in both houses.

So the representative from SA thinks my brain has been fried by the broadsheet media because HE thinks Henry Kissinger from the same party as Trump thinks Trump did a standout job on foreign policy.

Perhaps if old Henry was more balanced in his comments on the liar that was Trump, he may have had more credibility... or were those words conveniently exorcised from your report.

If I'm looking for comments on US foreign policy from an elder states person, I'll stick with Madeleine Albright.

Meanwhile, the stimulus package has now passed and the adults can get their country moving again.

I give the award for worst President to Trump for his lies and deceit over the election result last November. It was premeditated as evidenced by his statements beginning a month before the election, "If I don't win it will be because the vote is rigged." He kept this up, and continued to lie to the American people after the election. Court after court threw his case out, but he persisted, which convinced enough rednecks that it was worth storming the Capitol to avenge his "stolen" presidency.

Yep, has my vote also. I chuckle every time he speaks, confirming his faux statements.
The earth is flat, it’s true.
The moon is made entirely of cheese, it’s true.
I’m the greatest president in history, it’s all true.

Should he get the nod and run 2024 and doesn’t win, it’s rigged.
And if he doesn’t run, it’ll be because it’s rigged.

It's a TABLOID now-days, not a 'broad-sheet'. So talking up your own opinions while being blissfully ignorant - again - but what else is new.

And I didn't say he did a stand-out job on foreign policy - I said Henry Kissinger praised his largely successful foreign policy on the Middle East.

As usual, you can't get key facts right. Madeline Albright - how many wars did she start? How many did Kissinger start?

The rest of what you've said is just plain wrong so I'm not even going to bother.

I wasn't impressed with that either but the fact is that he was the first President since Carter to not start a new foreign war.

Interesting fact: Joe Biden hasn't done a press conference since becoming President. I wonder if his stellar performances WITH the aid of an autocue might be the reason why his advisors don't want him talking directly to the press?

In fact his advisors cut him off before there was any chance that the media could get near him un-scripted...

They don't trust Joe to not say something terminally dumb. Who can blame them.
