I must say that I, and others, always enjoy Don's pathetic attempts at self justification.
Because they were probably in care situations BEFORE they started falling. Note the use of "probably". He has no knowledge of the relevant situation, but still attempts to bluster his way through his own mistake. He is, as usual, wrong.
What, you need to be qualified in a field before you can comment? That rules you and all those other armchair experts out of commenting on pretty much anything on this board doesn't it.
I'm speaking from personal experience, my late father-in-law began to have falls and subsequent hospitalisations several years ago and it was a key indicator that he simply couldn't be at home any longer. His last serious fall was after tripping over the cat and unfortunately he never went home from hospital after that one. My friend on Kangaroo Island (a former nurse, now personal carer) said at the time that it was a really bad sign and probably had something to do with diminished motor skills, eyesight etc. and that they often used it as a marker to indicate when someone couldn't safely stay at home any longer.
President Biden has fallen a few times in the last few months.
