In the original announcement, I heard they will be 6 car sets and include two buffet modules?
You might expect that a six car set would equal the seat numbers of the original well patronised, crowded, loco hauled 5 car set (pre 2016), taking into consideration that a luggage van will now be be replaced with, in car luggage storage and extra bike racks.
The two buffet modules seem to suggest these 6 car sets might have 4 driver carriages instead of the logical 2 driving cars on a captive train on this SG route?
Not only would this be a waste of money, its just cutting out more bums on seats when associated with the two buffet modules and huge baggage areas?
I certainly have not been following this much as I have not noticed much to follow.
As a regular traveler between Wodonga and Melbourne, I really hope they actually get the trains right, and even think about utilizing the faster train times by running the first and last trains all the way to Wagga, which would really serve the local people!
And then the Canberra bus could be that much shorter as well.
