PRA Class

  Sulla1 Chief Commissioner

On the back of the recent introduction of the PRL class 2250-rebuilds, Progress has delivered another new locomotive class to North Queensland, with PRA001 arriving at Wulguru Rail Maintenance's South Yard workshops (Townsville) by road today.

Rebuilt at Progress' Redbank Workshops from a so far unknown 2170 or 2470 core, the PRA's external features match with Aurizon's 2700s and has been reported as an 8-710 engined GT38CU-3 variant rebuild. Like the PRLs, it is painted silver with yellow ends and carries the same 2700 class slogan "Super Clyde".
