An interesting piece appeared in the Economist the other day, at present, there are a total of 5,067,082 deaths because of the pandemic, the Economist points out that this figure is well below par, likely to be around the 17million mark, this is down to "excess deaths", compared to pre pandemic years, so when you get people like John Ioannidis saying "the Coronavirus threat would be the same as watching the 2 lowest teams in the NBA," absolute hogwash, remember folks, this person is supposed to be one of the leading people at Stanford University as well.

Nurses don't lie? Certainly, the overwhelming majority are good honest people, but Doyle posted a link just a few posts above that shows quite clearly some nurses are indeed prepared to lie, particularly if motivated by deranged ideas like those propagated by people like our Don. Unfortunately, the poor salaries of nurses lead to a situation where some may be tempted to corrupt their morals, sully the good name of their lovely profession.

I prefer to look at the official data rather than anecdotes, which although can be interesting, often clouds the overall picture.

Latest TGA adverse reactions indicate around 40 cases of myocarditis/pericarditis per day from vaccination, many of whom are teenagers.

And an interesting benefit/risk comment regarding the FDA report for 5-11 year-olds:

No wonder ATAGI are taking their time and wisely waiting for more data.

Could not believe my eyes on this post that CHO is so unpopular and at risk that many police are required just to protect him in public.

I can assure you that under the surface a small % of Victorians are angry as hell at the present time.  I don't agree with a lot of their anti-vax rhetoric, but dragging the mandates out for months and people losing jobs over it doesn't help.

Not going to say that many people haven't been hurt financially, but I actually don't know a single person who lost their job during the pandemic. Some were furloughed.

I actually know a couple of people who have now re-entered the labour force for the first time in a long time due to the lack of temporary migrant slaves in the country at the moment.

I see now Craig Kelly has ads running on Youtube venting his spleen about Mandatory vaccinations, saying you can "never trust Liberal, Labour or the Greens", SELLOUT!!, obviously he has sold his soul to Uncle Clive!

UAP, simply harvest votes from anti-vaxes and those against mandatory vaccinations.
And preference the LNP anyhow. A broadening of the church, I you will.

Sad to say it, but the UAP may actually get a few seats in 2022, if they run with the anti-vax mantra at the upcoming election Sad, I find the name United Australia Party very ironic by the way, some of their polices actually are rather divisive by nature Rolling Eyes

The United Australia Party was the party of Menzies et al before it became the Liberal Party. In my opinion, Palmer should never have been allowed to adopt the name - it is misleading. He has even used photos of Menzies and his cohorts in some ads, and if that is not deliberate deception, I'm the Queen of the May.

P.S. England has a Labour Party; Australia has a Labor Party.

As nutbag as Palmer is, I’ll take him gaining ‘a few’ seats if that means we have ‘a few’ more votes on the floor for nuclear energy in Australia - that’s a very small price to pay to get nuclear plants online, after that, vote the dickhead into oblivion.

Alas I know a man who is currently refusing to take the vaccine even as other people around him are getting vaccinated. He believes that COVID-19 vaccines have more adverse effects than any other vaccine and believes they were rushed and not properly tested.
He even believes that the vaccines don't block transmission. Data from the United Arab Emirates, the most vaccinated of major sovereign nations, shows they do in fact provide immunity.

And if his conduct is problematic, there’s always the option of using his ties with the CCP to do a Section 44 on him.

I don’t think he’ll get any more than one or two seats though, and those will be accidentally won by lower profile candidates than the lunatics Palmer and Kelly.

A man has been arrested for allegedly breaching COVID-19 directions by walking across the border in South Australia's south-east.

Police received reports about 10:30am on Thursday of a man walking through a forest near the Princes Highway at Glenburnie, a short distance from the Victorian border.

They searched the area and found a 36-year-old man of no fixed address trying to hide by wearing camouflage clothing.

He was about 1 kilometre into South Australia when arrested.

He will face the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court via video link today, charged with failing to comply with a direction.
He returned a negative COVID-19 test result.

South Australia's border with Victoria reopens on November 23.

I heard this morning that a man had been shot dead in NZ, but is being treated as a Covid Death until an investigation can be carried out.
