    Location: Having a sook about Southern cross's western wall
    Called the PTV number to unrelated-ly check if my free travel pass could be used to book ticketed V/Line travel (finally going up and seeing Maryborough station) and there was a notice at the start of the call indicating that response had been so strong they where having delays processing free myki passes. So defiantly getting some use from the sounds of it.

    I'm with you YM, when I saw the thread title I clicked on the link exited that I might be getting free travel to and from the city for a month.

    Alas no, just another Covid voucher scheme

    I'm with you YM, when I saw the thread title I clicked on the link exited that I might be getting free travel to and from the city for a month.

    Alas no, just another Covid voucher scheme

    It's up to you if you want to avail yourself of the voucher scheme. I wrote..."get out and do some travelling" not replace your weekly ticket with free travel for January.
    Though if you did some research instead of having a whinge, you should just about be able to get a weeks worth of travel, gratis.

    Because of the voucher scheme, we are:

    1. Travelling to Warrnambool and return at Christmas, gratis.

    2. Travelling to Stawell and return on New Years day also gratis.

    Potentially can travel anywhere through January if we have a mind to do so. So I stand by the title of the thread.

    As planned, with bikes we travelled to Warrnambool on Christmas day and return on Boxing day holiday.  The reserved section of the train was full and unreserved section around 75%. Pax definitely travelling again. Masks well in use.

    Looks like a helpful scheme over summer. I only see trips to city now though for exhibitions. Or does it mean I could go to a gallery in Bendigo perhaps? That part is a but vague.

    No one checks what the purpose of your trip is. Just say you're going to/from the NGV, no ticket required.

    Nobody asked for our ticket image on the phone whilst in transit. With a tiny amount of creative thinking you can travel anywhere by V/Line in Victoria.

    You can indeed lead a horse to water but only a Donkey would use the title of this thread to describe a voucher scheme Laughing

    The title of the linked article "Free Public Transport for all City Activities" would have been a better bet although even that is a bit confusing

    No Brenton, with a bit of creative thinking we travelled from Ballan to Warrnambool and return for gratis. The secret is to use the return portion first, that makes in our case, Warrnambool the originating station.
    Where one joins the train is immaterial.
