The Australian Open 2022

  justapassenger Minister for Railways

Predictable decision as there was no standing to appeal it.

The vacated position in the draw will now be offered to a player randomly drawn from among the four players eliminated in the last round of the qualifying tournament. Assuming that there are no changes to the schedule, that man will get to play at Rod Laver Arena in prime time on the first night, after the conclusion of Ash Barty's first round match.

Novaxx is gone!!!! unanimous ruling from the Federal Court, see ya later you unvaccinated ding bat!!!!

Calm down. He is being deported, which I believe is the correct, and in retrospect, the inevitable outcome of all of this, but there's no need to be insulting. He has done a lot of good work through his foundation, particularly giving poor children, in his native Serbia, a chance at getting an education, he has provided ventilators for hospitals in desperate need. How do you measure up in those stakes? How many poor children and hospitals have you helped?

I have helped quite a few through donations over the years, yes he is indeed a ding bat, if he got himself vaccinated we would not be in this mess now would we Billy, consider that one.

Most of us don’t have over a quarter billion dollars in the bank at our disposal, we do however have a Covid vaccination and that is arguably more useful. A ventilator can prevent one Covid death, a vaccination can prevent (conservatively) tens of infections freeing up ventilators for people needing them for non vaccine preventable illness/disease.

His foundation does some wonderful work, and I believe we should consider contributing, put our money where our mouth is as it were. As usual, Leftist fellow travellers will go on about 'oh, I gave ten quid to Greenpeace just last week', and think that equals the millions given by people like Djoko. Whatever the percentage of income may be, just ask a hospital or a charity helping children, would they prefer a million dollars from Djoko, or twenty from you. You know what the answer will be. Here's the link to his foundation for those interested.

I am really happy for Djokovic, he is doing wonderful things with this project, but that in no way excuses him for not getting a Covid-19 Injection, if he REALLY wants to be an inspiration to young kids out there, he will abide by the rules of a country, the rules are if you are to play at the Australian Open, you MUST, MUST!! be vaccinated, is that too much to ask??

Ask the Serbian hospitals if they’d like a million dinars from Djokovic or 20 dinars from each Serbian, I know what that answer would be. Ask them if they would prefer national compliance where possible on Covid vaccination or not, I know what that answer would be too.

Jimmy Saville also donated to children's hospitals and raised money through a foundation. No one took him on in part because they didn't want to loose the revenue, even if he was semi openly molesting underage girls.

Being rich and making donations means squat. Someone with that amount of money can give half of it away and still be 10 times richer than every member of Railpage combined.

When I make an annual donation, which I do to a selected children's cancer charity it means I have to actually forgo something and I don't win any admiration from local politicians and celebrity obsessed simpletons.

I had a look on a couple of charity accountability websites and can only come to the conclusion that it is a tax dodge scam. If anything, I suspect he actually takes a salary from the foundation rather than putting any money in.

The Serbian government would be able to do far more for children, hospitals etc if he closed down his foundation and simply paid income tax in Serbia.

Ask the Serbian hospitals if they’d like a million dinars from Djokovic or 20 dinars from each Serbian, I know what that answer would be. Ask them if they would prefer national compliance where possible on Covid vaccination or not, I know what that answer would be too.

The choice is actually zero from Dickovic or (insert any non-zero amount) from Serbians who pay tax in Serbia.

Not drunk on power, eyes on the prize. The may election.

My understanding is, that under the act133c, the immigration minister has absolutely discretion.
And the Federal court has so held (MT).
Frightening what other ministers may have absolute discretion over.

Oh! You mean like the lawyers for Djokovic knowing a thing or two about the legal process, and demonstrating such by taking a frivolous suit against the government to prove it? Appealing on grounds that are not considerable, approaching the case from the wrong burden of proof, yeah those lawyers knew some stuff, like maybe how to convince a fool to part with his money.

Incredible. Some people here think Novak is no better than the most notorious pedophile in modern history.

Quite ironic that the poster who compares Novak to Jimmy Saville has chosen the name of an Australian TV personality most associated with rumours of perversion with a glass coffee table

That was Epstein, not Savile.
  Sonofagunzel Minister for Railways

You need to distinguish between three things:
  1. Why Novak should have been deported: because he didn’t want to follow our rules and because he lied. I totally agree.
  2. Why Novak was deported: politics. I don’t care much about this in this case.
  3. Why Novak could be deported: because the Minister felt like it on the basis of the dissent that he might have stirred in Australia. This is a bit scary. It means that the PM of the day could bar entry to people like Al Gore, or Greta Thunburg, or Trump, or Jordan Peterson, or Ben Shapiro, just cause they didn’t like their politics. This isn’t just a violation of their right to speak, but is also a violation of our right to hear them and speak with them or to protest against them peacefully.

For those who believe legislation should be repealed/amended to remove the right of the government to cancel visas, I would refer you to https://aec.gov.au/Elections/candidates/nominating.htm so you can test the support for your ideas in the traditional manner.

This was a winning move by the government in all areas except one - that it is 2022 and the federal government still takes a few days to conduct polling instead of having a secure online portal where citizens can log in with their TFN or CRN and give democratic feedback in a more prompt manner.

Years ago I used to work in furniture, when Don Lane died I dug out a dvd of the best of the Don Lane show. I ran the cover through the colour copier a few dozen times and slipped them into blank cases and placed one on every glass coffee table we had.

My supervisor got the joke straight away, but our manager had to be informed… Lucky for him I couldn’t source the rubber dog poos quick enough.

Yes that is true, but for me although correct was a hollow decision.

My mum died in Late Jan 2021. I could not go to her funeral for fear of being stranded as the Morrison Government was severely restricting entries into Australia and that also applied to Australian citizens. I could not even get to watch it on zoom as she was buried in Antigua and the Tech weren't up to scratch.

And here is the Morrison Government granting a visa to Katie Hopkins, a right wing racist rabble rouser who used the term "Final Solution" when commenting on Muslims. Absolute filth who only got her bony @rse booted out because she flouted Covid-19 rules and boasted about it on social media.

Morrison and his goons win no brownie points from me.
