It is the fourth largest copper deposit and the largest known single deposit of uranium in the world. Copper is the largest contributor to total revenue, accounting for approximately 70% of the mine's revenue, with the remaining 25% from uranium, and around 5% from silver and gold

We should be sensible (for once) and just adopt nuclear power and be done with it.

The are other Uranium deposits and another mine but cannot remember the name or if in operation.

Nuclear fission power is expensive, but otherwise agree a full mine to end of life industry could have been established. However I'm not sure if this time has past.

At this time Australia (SW Qld) will be operating around 2GW (about 10% of total demand) of coal power beyond 2040. So plenty of time for technology to develop and evolve.
