A SUSPICIOUS fire damaged a railway station and disrupted train services in Melbourne's south-east overnight.
Police were called to Westall railway station in Rayhur Street, Clayton South, following a report of a minor assault and youths running from the station about 11.30pm (AEST) yesterday, police said.
A fire began in a waiting room a short time later and spread through the weatherboard building to a ticket office, damaging a ticket machine.
A Metropolitan Fire Brigade spokesman said trains were stopped on the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines for two hours.
Police are treating the fire as suspicious and a guard was placed at the scene overnight.
Connex Trains staff and detectives will investigate today.

I seen the station on the news, the fire looks like it spread out a lot.
