Car Set SN7 (Consist from the East End ACN21-BS215-BS218-BS216-BS219-BS217)
Can I ask a silly, pedantic question?
Why couldn't the BS cars be placed in numerical order?
Also, believe there might be some other transfers happening this week![]()
when it says the carriage is a compartment type... what exactly does that mean?
Think of it as a carriage with several seperate rooms, each seating about 6 people.
and each room has a door to keep unwanted people out.
It will enter into service on Thursday running on the 1655 Marshall and returning to Southern Cross on the 0747 ex South Geelong weekdays.Replacing a VN set IIRC? (Or an FN?) Anyway, I'm assuming there were be a 'cascading' of rosters, with the displaced set getting put onto the roster of an overcrowded smaller set, and so on. Or a retiming of the timetable, the displaced set replacing a VLocity run, with those displaced cars split up and added to other runs.
Great that its transferred and first running on Thursday - I only have morning classes, which means I might be able to get down to see the transfer, and almost definitely will be able to ride on board its first runSame situation for me - if there transfer is in the arvo I'm fine, but have to work that night.![]()

Either way - some mornings I might end up catching the set, or wait for the Warrnambool train and possible BCZs.![]()

I think it is time for V/Line to bite the bullet and part with some $ and get some new passenger cars. If they plan on using loco hauled for the next 15 to 20 years, as I have been told, they need some new gear.

I don't see what is wrong with running loco services. I mean if they get people where they want to go in comfort why not let them stay.
I'm a big fan of V/Line loco hauled passenger services. It would be a real pitty to se them go though.
