I was travelling to Perth from Clarkson around 10:30. I can confirm (at least at Clarkson) that there was a specific platform announcement for the stadium trains. Also the scrolling message at the bot ...

Why would there be extra trains - other than special events at Perth stadium? Surely the Thornlie trains will simply be extended to Cockburn

Bombardier have announced an order for 10 more B sets with delivery from 2019. Nothing from state government as of this morning!

Newest set I have seen in operation is 114. Final set of current deliveries should be 116. So only two more to come. I would hope this gives us 6 car trains throughout, but I'm assuming the rest of th ...

As well as everything north-south running all stations, they have slipped in the odd extra minute in the schedule here and the ...

So north-south services will all be all stops metro style service. Good for passengers at Greenwood, Glendalough, Leederville and Canning bridge, but not necessarily good for spreading train loadings  ...

There has been some comment in the media that there will be no change to the parking arrangement at stations - no long term parking; you will still only be able to pay for one day's parking at a time, ...

[quote=Wallip]A though I have had over the weekend coming out of an article from New Zealand.

B set 108 seen in service on its own a few days ago. Is this still the most recent one to enter service?

[quote=Wallip]Just had a call from Dad. Seems Transperth completely underestimated the crowds for the giants. Been waiting at Glendalough with 100 other people. 3 trains arrived overcrowded with no ro ...

It's called "economies of scale" - look it up perhaps.

A bit disappointing it's a blanket decision affecting all lines. My experience is that the Joondalup line trains were always well used

Set 103 now in service

[quote=Mouse]So 10 more are needed, but 13 are ordered. Do we know what the extras will be used for - frequency increase, running on other lines, extra spares? Or will they be needed when Aubin Grove ...

By my calculation, if the 3 x 4 car A sets are retained, all other trains could be 6 cars with 56 B sets in service. We now have 55.

Assuming probably 2 are out of service continuously for compatib ...

Set 101 now in service. Seen yesterday coupled to 056

It appears that service trains are now running empty between Clarkson and Butler. There is usually what I assume to be a trainer accompanying most trains over the new section.

Good idea - should ge ...
