I think this is on rare shot. DQ2002-MKA2137-MKA2138-ZR2101 on the container train, DQ2011 back on the Melba line trains, its accident damage is fixed(still has a bent hand rail) and DQ2001 way down the yard.

A pic of DQ2002.

This loco needs a bad clean, as you can see.

And last a PN livered trio, the MKA's and ZR loco.

Great shot of the DQ,2002 ZR2101 and the two MKA's  2138 and 2137.  An even rarer sight occurred while this container train was in the Devonport yard before heading to burnie.  While here it crossed with the south bound paper train.  On that was D2021, ZP2000 and MKA 2134.

At work so didn't have my camera with me  I think it will be a while before I see all four PN painted locos together again.

Yeah that would be rare. That nights train was very long, was told all 4 locos will be going, not three. Also last night a quad of 4 yellow Z/ZA locos on another lengthy train. Although i couldn't get a pic due to ore train waiting there, in the way.
Oh and Jeff yes it is QR2062 on the ore train. You can just see the cabside numbers.

I can tell you that when both of those trains chugged past my house heading south out of the Devonport Yard all four locos were working hard to get the train moving.  Wasn't till the locos got through the first cutting and started the drop into Horsehead Creek that the train started to get up any speed.

It was a very impressive sight.  I'm sure the motorists at the Road crossing at the edge of the yard disagreed though.  They were sitting there for quite a while.

Hopefully trains of this size start to become the norm again instead of a rare sight that they have been of late.

Maybe once some of the track re-alignments and "new" locomotives arrive... it is trains like this that almost killed the network in the first place... they are nicer to photograph and to listen to though...  Very Happy

Word is 31 left Burnie around 0740 with the ZR and ZP at the helm.

I don't know if the weather is better for you southerners, might be worth a look...

Word is right.  531 came throguh Devonport around 9:20 with 2101 leading 2100 and 31 wagons.  I think about 12 wagons were empty the rest were loaded to the max.

....this morning, Burnie, DQ2003-ZR2101-ZP2100, the combo is sort of there, just need to take off the DQ  Wink . I don't know what train it is. Also i was confused when i seen the Melba set here, DQ2002-QR2062-DQ2004(with a bit of graffiti). Also last off, DQ2001 still waiting shipment!

Both Ds together, again. Is there a real shortage of motive power?. Or will a DQ or MKA be added at Western Junction?

well, something else i have not seen in a very long while...
only 2 locomotives on the paper, the 2 D's running together with no other help!
sounded pretty good.
"tasrail2100"

Ok i found this on the first page, its been nearly 12 months since the last time the 2 Ds was together, by them selves on the paper train. LAst year it was 15th October.

Ok this is what has been happening in Devonport for the last week while the system was down.  This included a few unusual movements.

1:- The cement train is now pulling 15 hoppers again.

2:- On either Monday or Tuesday 2010 and DV1 left the hoppers in Devonport and ran light out to Railton at around 5 pm.  At Railton they brought back 6 full coal hoppers to Devonport to be attached to the following mornings container train on its way to Burnie.

3:- On Thursday the 19/10 at around 12:30 pm 2001 and 2011 ran light from Burnie to Devonport to collect the coal hoppers and around 10 container wagons that the mornings container train left in Devonport.  I can only assume that the train was too big for the two locos to get over Don Hill or one of the loco's was playing up.

4:- The Z/ZA combination is back on the papertrain being Z2110, ZA2114, ZA2115 and Z2113.  This was on the morning of the 19/10.

the train on yesterday, 2001-2011 can't be right, cause DQ2001 is stored here in Burnie, for last month!. Maybe you mean DQ2002?

Yes you are right it was not 2001.  It was 2101.  Opps slight typo.
