This link try's to load sotware and unless you allow it to load it shuts down the site. Use at you own risk

I hate sites that do this! ILM may have good gear, but i will never know as i have placed his site into the do not go here catergory  Sad

In Ian Lindsay's defence, it's his web-host that 'supplies' the nasties, not Ian himself.

Firefox with the adblock extension totally removes the nasties and the site becomes perfectly usable.

IMHO Ian might do well to move to a better web host - but don't blame him or avoid his products simply because of what his webhost does.

Not trying to reflect badly on ILM, but it was his choice to use a provider that sells "advertising" to a company that does potentially malicious practices.

Ian does need to decide quickly if he wants to have this web host be the reason why he has less business.  As i won't see what he has on offer whilst he is with his current host.

and if i can't see what he has on offer due to malicious popo-ups then.....
what choice do i have but to stay away Sad

on a similar note, Eureka needs to do the same thing as their webhost also has pop-ups, and being one of the "bigger" companies now they need to seriously need to consider the marketing damage being done by using hosting provided by a company that utilises Pop-Ups as they have no or none- to limited capacityto control what kind of pop-ups are sent to their customers and potential customers.

In their defence, I remember the site before the pop-ups, so whilst they are no doubt aware of them, they didn't necessarily expect them, and changing URLs is a big move.

I doubt they know of/expect any of the ads to be malicious though ... if you know for a fact they are malicious, you might want to contact them and let them know - PM me if you want the contact details, as I have them somewhere from previous purchases.

Hello Iain,

I wonder what the fuss is about.  I use IE6 and Nortons Internet Security and have never had a worry with either ILM or Eureka.

I have seen the note on Eureka apologizing for pop-ups, but have never seen one pop-up and wondered why that note was there. Rolling Eyes

Mate, better look at your browser and security software rather than demanding Ian Lindsay and Ron C move their sites. Very Happy

AllAussie,
And while you are there look under Austrains S wagons.  They are $8 each there, but in the December AMRM they had yellow ones advertised for $5.  Guess all the bargain hounds would have bought them by now. Crying or Very sad   However, $8 is not bad for a RTR wagon these days and they are not bad models. 8)
