Interesting.

There seemed to be a lot of running back and forth in the yard yesterday morning proir to 6DA2 running south. At this stage VL361 was still in the consist but I didn't see it run out of the yard for the trip south. Wouldn't be able to tell you when it did run south.

So if 6DA2 left with FQ/ALF from Darwin, where is the ALF?

What did 6DA2 have as locos when it got into Port Augusta?

For the record, 7DA2 got away prior to 0850 this morning.

Is there a GWA loco driver based in Alice Springs or does the crew off the passing trains use the FJ to shunt ?

Anybody know what DA service the FJ is coming back on?

Pat Nat drivers do the shunting in Alice yards with the Terimal Operators assitance in shunting with the pat nat drivers that are based in alice for the Ghan. Most of the terimal operators are trained to shut also.

From what i have been able to follow over the years they send it south once they have a replacement on it's way north. Many times when they swap the FJ's in Darwin they cross at Katherine.
