Hey boys, I'm looking at buying a house close to the line in Winchelsea. I know there's passenger trains going up and back but I have no idea about the freight lines. So basically I'm just wondering how many trains go up and back on that line within a week?

Cheers

Is there a timeframe available for the commencement of additional containers for meat export ?
freightgate

I attended a meeting yesterday with a group who understand the situation at Warrnambool.  No meat export coming any time soon.  The same group are now discussing a large development at Penola producing export powdered milk.

Like most rail announcements in Victoria "Hot Air".

It has been a while since these "big plans" for more meat exports from Warnnambool was announced.  Like almost all announcements regarding rail in this state nothing has actually been delivered thus far.

Does anyone have a view of what might be happening in terms of the additional export volumes from the meat works?

Haven't seen anything in the local paper. Penola looks like it's going ahead, not that it will go by rail...

The milk plant at Penola is being developed my Midfield ,the owners of the meat works at Warrnambool! Commodity company Louis Dreyfuss has also taken a stake in this operation! The time frame for it starting starting production is 3rd quarter 2017. Currently meat is being transported by road to Penola from Warrnambool for storage then transported back to Warrnambool  for further processing. The export of this meat is handled by rail.

The freight hasn't appeared since Fri 24/03/2017,all container traffic to and from Westvic by road.Industrial dispute involving PN?

Yes it appears there has been industrial action that has seen a lot of PN trains sitting idle. Very little PN BG grain has run through Gheringhap as well.

Does anyone know why an N class with occupied carriages was stopped between Rowans Lane and Jubilee Park Road coming into Warrnambool at 23:00? All lights were on and people were sitting in the carriages. LRT

I have noticed this week that PN are running two separate single G powered trains daily. Is this just a seasonal increase or something new?
