I was passing through Parliament station last night and just happened to notice something odd about the yellow LED dotpanels that repeat:
"Hold Onto"
"Handrail"

Namely, that one of them had freaked out and presumably returned to its last known configuration - namely TRAINADS!

Zounds! (no idea what that means)

Any idea whether the number still works - and who it belongs to?

Haha, thought they looked familar Smile

Maybe, though, a more suitable program for them post-6.30pm would be:

HOPE

YOU BROUGHT

A BOOK

Smile

There is only one way to find that out, and since you have a knack for testing phone numbers (ie: pride boxes) why don't you try this one out!  Wink

So given it's entirely possible to record the DTMF tone that the pride box dials... does anything happen if you replay it at home on your own phone?

The numbers for PRIDE boxes are not publicly available- however, it is possible to 'decode' the number by recording and listening repeatedly to the sound of the PRIDE box dialing after you push the green button. I have listened to the PRIDE box at one station (better not say which one) from my home phone before......

Were they always that big. I can remeber them being smaller?

Ah well, not as bad as "The Met" safety stickers posted instead of M>Train "You need a valid ticket"... (no pics  Sad )

I saw one of them in a Ventura bus a while ago - funny thing was that the "no blocking doors" symbol clearly showed Comeng/Hitachi doors - not those of a bus!

There are also some displays like that at the Hobsons Bay Model Club's rooms near West Tower. Along with some non-refurb Comeng seats which made be go all nostalgic, which looks really weird in someone my age.

These we're all from Ballarat when the comenges were referbished , All the seats and those digital displays that we're removed we're in large skips to be sent to the local tip , the destination rolls also went to the same place
Ballarat tip must be a gold mine of comeng parts
