Bogie Nominations - Best Newcomer

  Byrnesy Minister for Railways

Location: Gone
This is the official nomination thread for "Best Newcomer".

The thread will be left open in perpetuity with an annual cut-off date of each year's Bogies.

It's helpful to include reasons with your nominations, but not necessary.

A Newcomer is defined as anyone who joined within 18 months prior to the cut-off date for nominations for the relevant Bogie (usually the cut-off date will be in August or September).  So eg for the 2007 Bogie, the person must have joined after February 2006.  The reason for the 18 months is to make sure that someone joining in say late July doesn't miss out on a nomination just because it was too soon for them to be noticed in one year but too late to nominate them in the following year.

You can't get nominated for this Bogie if you've won it in a previous year.

Nominations for Bogies 2007 start on page 3.

Someone's gotta nominate sueglossy - only if her continual whining about plants started the idea of forming ninthnotch cement rail.

But in seriousness, I'd second Jason R and 574M. (except when I'm distracted and they've posted one above the other and I get them mixed up due to the near identical Harris avatars...)

Yes, second that, Revenue gives very interesting perspectives, and insights to traffic patterns, responsivness and planning therefore, which we would otherwise not hear about.

Second the nomination.

This is now the official nomination thread for "Newcomer of the Year".

The thread will be left open in perpetuity with an annual cut-off date for each year's Bogies.

It's helpful to include reasons with your nominations, but not necessary.

I've decided that a Newcomer should be defined as anyone who joined within 18 months prior to the cut-off date for nominations for the relevant Bogie (usually the cut-off date will be in August or September).  So eg for the 2006 Bogie, the person must have joined after February 2005.  The reason for the 18 months is to make sure that someone joining in say late July doesn't miss out on a nomination just because it was too soon for them to be noticed in one year but too late to nominate them in the following year.

Well, I joined on July 7th 2005, and IIRC I was runner up for last year's newcomer award; so, in light of SOAG's specifications above, I guess I'm eligible for this year's award too...
