Bogie Nominations - Best Photographer

  fullofrubbish Assistant Commissioner

Location: Brunswick
I have to nominate wongm on this category. Always one of the first on the scene, wongm always produces the photos us railfans want to see, and not in dodgy quality either.

http://wongm.fotopic.net/c1362863.html

And also the good use of photo in helping to explain some rail things that some of us newer bloke don't know about.

http://wongm.fotopic.net/p44761939.html

And the occassional good use of photoshop for a bit of laugh and seeing how gulliable some Railpage users really are!

http://wongm.fotopic.net/p44356707.html

Thanks for your photo contributions to both the Victorian and Melb Suburban forums over the last year. Well done Marcus!

As photos include those linked in a Railpage thread, Nosecone has done and *excellent* job of taking Miniature Railway photos at the Galveston day. See http://www.railtravel.com.au/galstonvr/index.htm

This month, there is a worthy second nomination for Photographer. Due the lesser density of traffic and motive power, one has to consider DQ2004 in Tasmania ... an excellent photo .... see here http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=6879593

And an overseas visitor came here and took photos: the Frenchman rino54

Taitset's photo of B74 at Seymour surrounded by a happy crowd captures the essence of what we are all about, and indeed, recalls that very essence of the glamour of the Spirit of Progress; it was always a crowd puller. Nomination to Taitset.

  Raichase Captain Rant!

Location: Sydney, NSW
You may agree with the bloke, but what a large number of you would have to agree with is that 42101 is consistently bringing us photos fresh from the railhead, showing us things we could never hope to see, and always handy to help out explaining what those funny looking yellow machines do.

His photos might not meet the technical specifications we judge "normal" rail photos that we all share, but that is nothing when you consider some of the nitty gritty detail that his photos, and indeed his threads get into.

Here are some of his recent threads:

Weekend at Blacktown

Homebush Happenings

Tamping at Lidcombe
  hurstville1 Chief Commissioner

Location: Uniform Papa - Yankee Oscar - Alpha Sierra Sierra
I'll nominate Raichase

Amen to that  Very HappyVery Happy
  409 Minister for Railways

Can we include videos in the photography section this year? If so, I nominate rocket for his constant videos 'from the office'. Something that most railfans (especially in this day and age) rarely if ever get to experience.

[edit="574M"]

A Good suggestion.

Video is becoming more prevalent here, and I can think of a number of events which have been videod

I will add a poll today. [/edit]

I nominate 42101, not about his skill but his eagerness to actively share from his outings.  I don't know what it is but those threads and photos always appeal to me.
