Yep, no blue covers on the headrests (antimacassars). V/Line stopped putting them out on the VLocities sometime last year, I was told that the company that made them had shut up shop, and they didn't have a new supplier.

I guess V/Line has run out of the last of their stockpiled supplies. I can't wait until the seats get covered in hair jel. Rolling Eyes

Idea  Hair jel Question

I thought they were to stop the top of the seats from getting covered in greasy Brylcream and California poppy, not to mention Macassar itself.

Mike.

PS I believe the aeroplanes still use them.

Gee, antimacassar is a big word.
The only big word I know is delicatessen.

Still saw a fair few in the carriage I was in this morning (0715 Marshall, all I know is it was BZN 27something), on an FN set (FN10).

I think this heralds an opportunity to stamp out people using product in their hair. Or you could have a product hair carriage with vinyl seats. Brylcreem carriage now departing on Platform 2. Shocked
  RATLSNAKE Chief Train Controller

Putting the jokes aside, you don't need to put anything in your hair.  Hair washed daily still produces oils that can lead to fabrics deteriorating over time. And no I'm far from a hair dresser. If the airlines have suppliers, surely VLP can source one.

Compared to this:

Speaking of hair gels, I use to find it amusing of a peak-hour morning when people would lean their heads against the glass window for a short doze while heading into the city, most would alight leaving a wet patch on the glass.

Vline just got a little bit more unhygenic and gross.

Someone should tell Today Tonight or A Current Affair about it; I'm sure that could fill in 5 minutes of a slow news day talking to a representative from V/Line, a conductor who repeatedly says "no comment", a few Borg cleaners, and a hair expert. Oh, add Qantas to the mix, and their current supplier too Wink

Better still A Chaser Affair (or its current equivalent on Chaser's War On Everything) would cover it nicely  Laughing

Shakespeare wrote a play about it - it's called Much Ado About Nothing.

Perhaps the old bald guys like me could get a concession because we're not contributing to the product left on the seats and glass. Seriously though, it's a bit like the food and drink issue. How difficult would it be to people to take their half consumed food away with them? Do they think that mum will constantly clean up after them? It's just another form of littering Confused

It's not that bad.

Compared to the suburban trains, the V/Line trains are luxurious.

How do they compare to CityRail intercity services in NSW?
