Time to have a go...

  1. In the 1970's a train derailed into a platform after a torrential downpour dislodged rocks and earth over the line

Opened in December 1899, this former terminus (twice) really conveys the demise of rail as the primary mode of goods traffic. A quarry at one end, Puffing Billy at the other (once slated to travel all the way to NSW, albeit briefly).

In the 70's , the dirt road at the level crossing dumped a large amount of rock and detrius over the tracks and a train hit the head of the platform - just.

Well done Valvegear.

Cheers, Shane.

1. This station is not named after the suburb in which it is located.
(more clues will follow if nobody flukes this one! . . . there's a few to choose from ).

Rushall I'm not sure but it might have been the junction to Whittlesea via the inner circle.

Well done zoszos; it is Rushall.

( onyx had the right idea but chose the western junction of the inner circle whilst Rushall is at the eastern end.)

Over to zoszos for the next one.

This station has disused rails not connected to anything at the end of the platform.
