Damien, doesnt matter what you use as long as you get the shot. The shot of 2110 on your webpage proves that. Nice work and excellent composition.

This week I bought a Cannon 550D with the twin lens kit. (Thanks for the Xmas sale JB HIFI). So far so good but I have a steep learning curve now as Ive only ever used point and shoot cameras!

Lots of reach with 300mm on a 1.6 crop Andrew, plus a zoom is handy to mix up the shots as the train gets closer.

This is probably best information on it. Its a 200mm lens used on a 1.3 crop sensor.Thank you for the information.

Camera bogies they won't, but lenses are a different matter. I bought a EF-S 17-85mm lens in Hong Kong with an international warranty, and had to troubles getting it repaired under warranty back here (FYI at Camera Clinic, Collingwood).

I only buy bodies in Australia, but lenses I am happy to buy ''grey'' imports. Have bought and sold many over the years and never had a problem.
With the Aussie dollar as high as it is I recommend highly B&H in New York.Order on a Sunday you get the lens on a Thursday in Australia.

I only buy bodies in Australia, but lenses I am happy to buy ''grey'' imports. Have bought and sold many over the years and never had a problem.
With the Aussie dollar as high as it is I recommend highly B&H in New York.Order on a Sunday you get the lens on a Thursday in Australia.
I am the other way around, I like to get my hands on the glass and make sure it is sharp and glass prices are not that much different when you are talking top of the line Nikon. Bodies, if purchased from the right place come with a Mack warranty, which if required, repairs are done here in Aust. But I have never had a problem with a body. With glass I have had a binding focus issue, fixed in a few days.

Dealt with them, good service and prices. Need to be aware of GST on items over $1000 on imports. DHL I had a bad run with on my recent purchase of the Canon 24-105mm F/4L, took 2 weeks to get here instead of 3-4 days.

thelastname, Digirev have changed their practices of where they would provide an electronic invoice with no GST to one that includes GST, so it is now covered in their prices, it saw a slight rise of only 3% not the full 10. They wore the rest out of their profits. Apparently they send more to Australia than they do anywhere else. I had my D700 in 2 days.

Just a heads up, Photo Continental are selling ex-gov. Canon 30D's body only for $199. Could make a useful second body for some or a cheap step into the canon DSLR's for others.
