It's a historic day....

The Tangaras have landed.
Gosh Is this the longest model "announcement to production" from an Aussie seller? The 3D print appeared at a Hobsons Bay Exhibition at least 12 years ago possibly at Port Melbourne venue (just kidding)

Rod, I know you're joking, but I actually can't think of anything with a longer timespan between announcement and production that the Eureka Models WCR R Class! These were announced with the original production run but then pushed back to the rerun due to changes to the tender that apparently needed to be made. I can't find the original announcement date, but the order form listing these two liveries says full payment by 30 June 2006, so it's going to be at least 15 years between announcement and delivery for the WCR R Class!!!

As noted on page 32 of this thread in June 2012, the samples displayed to the public were never 3D prints.

What about the Eureka K class, the 40 class and the 59 class, plus all the other order forms that adorned the website. There was even running samples of the K class at Hobsons Bay.

When you look at the cost and effort that goes into just getting a pilot model, then we really can't complain if some models take some time to be produced.

Shrike models SAR Rx loco.

Does the Shrike 30 Class count as well.

When Geoff Hope was alive, I had the pilot of the 30T in my hand, at a group function.

I don't believe so as the original person behind the model was gutted from its ownership after he doing the majority of the work and the model was ready to be brought out, but was replaced by another model from another company, the rest is history as Geoff Hope was struck out from the model and replaced by a another brand, then Geoff passed away.

To move onto something actually about Auscision. Tangara now available to order using online shopping cart for those that did not pre order. They look great and worth the long wait for their arrival.

Well I wasn't going to get one.. till I did.

Should look good with The Met logos and some silver or aluminium colour paint over those Tangara panels.

I was thinking of creating a scene with Sims Metal, with the crushers ripping open a Tangara set.

That might be a good one for a bargain bin castoff. Wink

Anyone know how many decoders I will need for this thing?  I assume one for the motor car and maybe an fx decoder for the other end?

So mine arrived tonight and the answer is a 21pin DCC decoder for each end.

Wow, I thought the N class was Auscisions hardest to open loco.  This one has simple clips like an old Lima model, but you will almost certainly leave gouges in the body doing it!

edit: An hour and a bit later I've got a lokpilot into one end!
I'd suggest having a lot of credit/store cards handy to hold the side clips apart and just accept there will be a lot of horrible sounding cracking noises!  Start at the B end and work the cards forward along the join.  It runs right under the doors and main side windows around floor level at the ends.

The instructions don't include it, but make sure you swap the lighting connectors from the DC to the DCC sockets on the main board.  The DCC ones can be hard to spot under the wiring.

The world of facebook is aflutter with excitement as an unannounced Auscision locomotive sample was spied in the display case at Australian Modeller yesterday. I wonder what "Crazy Locomotive Project" this could be...

If it does happen its something I think will be very well received judging from some of the prices the rather outdated Austrains versions have been going for on eBay. Bring it on.

If this is a clue to Auscision's future thoughts and it comes to be, I am ready to start lining up to throw my hard-earned at them for three of those green, gold and silver Bobby-Dazzlers.  The Austrains ones are somewhat "Old Hat" these days, with all the leaps and bounds in technology since they were first released onto the market.  If you think about it, Auscision have the "Indian Pacific", "Ghan" and "Overland" cars looking for an appropriate loco on the front end.

Yup.... With this new development, one wonders whether the S will be next.?? It is (I think) the only loco left that SSR runs that Auscision either haven’t modelled OR announced that they will. One can hope, especially in the dual marker light variant anyway.

I must say those tooling samples look fairly well advanced. Livery wise I’d expect a Casper and Grey Ghost to appear, plus whatever special Auscision application may happen on one between now and the model delivery.

S, GM, J, 47 and 49 all carry the SSR livery. Only the 49's have been teased (but not announced) to us so far. BRM's carry CRL livery which is a SSR subsidiary.

btw CLF3 is "Space Ghost" (not grey ghost), but not for much longer.

Poath Do you know why some pictures do not appear on Railpage Australia™? Yours don't as well as many others
I do get three small lines, flashing in middle of black frame. As if it was trying to load

I often see the same problem. Always fixes itself for me by logging in (obviously you're logged in to reply!), then forcing a page refresh.

I'm not sure if some one was just playing a joke, but they posted a photo on the Auscision Facebook page on Saturday morning showing a Victorian S Class as part of the product line up.

Guess only time will tell

If you look on Auscision website there is a page for CLP class and also one for CLF class.
CLF3 is currently white but must be going into the same livery SSR applied to GM27 and S317 so that explains why there is artwork for CLF3 in SSR Yellow/Black/Silver Livery and can be pre ordered.
