What i find truely pathetic is that thompson does not have to stand down and still gets paid while awaiting a court date and still gets to walk around as a free man, Anyone else facing 150 fraud charges would be in remand section of jail.
Yeah i know some pigs are more equal than others.

"Black Hoppers"

In essence, you get put in the remand section if you pose a risk to the community or a flight risk. I don't think Thompson is going anywhere.

Correct, and that is normal for the bail procedure under the Bail Act of NSW that these people are on bail.

Very few people, if any, with such charges are held in custody until the next appearance.

However, his solictior is a goose. He had three hours notice to attend the court hearing in Wyong, but could not bother to go up there and represent his client.

Perhaps you should remind us of the Good Senator.   How much  money did the Senator use on prostitutes?  How many times was the good Senator's Union  credit Card used to obtain such services?   How many times did the Good Senator  claim that no wrong was done?  How many times did the good Senator claim that other people stole the Union credit card,  used it fraudalently,  signed it correctly and then returned it to the good Senator? How much other rorting did the Good Senator  do?

And someone will say that Costello should come back...

"Ballast_Plough"

Nope - Bud and Lou were never going to be taken seriously. Surprised
"cootanee"
Now, now, no need to insult them! Laughing

Could you imagine what the headlines would have been if the Liberals won in 2007, and had Costello as treasurer, and Abbot instead of Howard as PM!

So are the Liberal hosts, columnists suck as the likes of Akerman, Bolt, Jones etc, going to criticise the Liberal candidates for advertising and / or living outside their electoral seats? (EG: I don't think Belmont, NSW is in the seat of Shortland, yet the Shortland candidate is polluting, oh I mean advertising in that area with his political signs)

I don't know why people complain about them spending too much money on overseas trips. The trouble with their overseas trips, is that their not one-way!

This election, like the last NSW state election is a joke. The opposition party only became government because the government of the day was hated so much.

May turn out he has a "medical problem" too...

But that would be different. Wouldn't it. Surprised

As for Thompson he'll get whatever the courts dish out - as it should be.

In the meantime recognise trial by news of the world for what it is.

If the story is to be believed (and I know our Liberal-minded brethren would rather choke on their Cornflakes than be swayed) both Evans and Roxon had flagged their departures to Gillard a year ago.

That won't stop Abbott and particularly Pyne from spouting the usual bovine excreta. Pyne is an interesting case; he seems hellbent on showing that, in his determination to sink the Government, he can't think straight.

And that is a good reason for making handbag Roxon AT.  For one year.  And her attempt to muffle free speech.   Good riddance.   Oh dear I may have offended her.   I should be sued!

Thanks to Thompson everyone will remember  that Labor  stands for lies and corruption.  If it wasn't for the media chasing this story justice would not have been done.

Well it certainly looks a lot like labor is rearranging their deck chairs on the sinking vessel while the band plays on and they all keep up the stiff upper lip despite the ever deepening water lapping their heels.

Or is it just your traditional case of the rodents deserting a doomed vessel before it sails over the horizon of a massive electoral defeat.

Have Abbott and Co. announced how exactly they're going to get the budget back into a surplus yet, or are we not mentioning the dirty 'economy' word this election?

Increasing spending while decreasing taxes like the Libs are so fond of saying they're going to do is never going to erase a debt.

The Melbourne Age had an excellent cartoon today. A calendar with the months from February to August marked "Spin; More Spin" etc.

Then:
September 12 - announce policies.
September 13 - announce policy costings.
September 14 - hope to become PM.
September 16 - announce massive budget black hole that's just been found, so promised policies can't be met.
