Considering I can open up a forum loaded with photos on the home page in about 1 second, taking upto 10 secs for basically a text page is slow  but it is an improvement.

When mentioning page load times, please include the URL you were loading and your ISP. This helps us diagnose where the fault lies.

Additionally, there are a number of things that can impact the speed at which websites load. If you are downloading files or streaming videos/audio from the internet, this will slow down web traffic. Additionally, mobile clients (GPRS/3G/4G/LTE) clients may experience slowness due to congestion in your area.

takes some time.

I am sitting on a chunky pipe in downtown Adelaide, loading http://www.railpage.com.au/f.htm took 13.560 seconds for a page size 102285 bytes, it took 7.945 seconds to download the first byte. So the speed/throughput seems reasonable (well slow side of reasonable), but the connection time is way slow.

Thanks, guys. Keep the information coming. I'm working on some code updates to address speed and stability which I hope to push out in the next week before I go overseas. All this information helps me identify where the real-world lag is, and when.

Hi Michael,

For me the problem is at its worst between 8am and 2pm British summer time. I am in the UK.

Opening the home page, forum index and forum pages dosn't normally present too much of a problem it is opening the actual threads or posting to same that is where the biggest problem occurs. The thing times out and I get the following page.
