As author, I would say your best bet would be to keep checking Ebay. I sold out in 1999!
Re the 1940s to 1960s era, many keen authors self- published WA Rails books of variety of activities. Along came the Preserved Railways who did likewise.
These were limited editions and many still probably exist and many families clearing out the estate of collectors do not value them highly;so many publications /research will be lost to posterity.
Perhaps Rail Heritage might act for these books to be sent to it for their archives and perhaps sell off some for the group :worthy cause and the books still prove valued research resource.
I have willed my collection in this case.
Well what does one do with his collection of 8mm film and 35mm slides of the era 1960's to the mid 1970's along with a collection of other railway bits and pieces along with books etc. Yes a hard decision so some is left to my Grand Nephew who has a liking for railways and some to RHWA. But the bottom line is that the items have been saved and some one out there will welcome them into there collection until their time comes and the process repeats it self. As the man said "THATS LIFE"
