It’ll be the nginx log, and it’ll show errors that may or may not show as 500s

What *are* you seeing?

Nothing of note.

The system is NGINX based with PHP-FPM PHP server building the pages for the HTTPD server.  No real errors in the NGINIX log nor the php log (Paul looks after those settings).

Yep, it's a bog-standard interactive web server. I actually considered maybe PHP-FPM was running out of memory given a restart to the infrastructure (which would likely have reset especially the PHP log) fixed it.

Memory is good with 24 GIG of RAM on the vmware server.  Only 1/2 is in use and not all that is PHP.

The new code is now cutting events to the log server and I am about to start to setup  LIBRENMS  which will have alarms for the new applications I am building and the new platform.  From a series of screens the network guys can see any application errors also in the form of traps.

That's not how PHP memory allocation works. You set in the ini file how much RAM you want to allow PHP to have available to it, and it can't exceed that.

Given Railpage is set to, I would assume, log errors silently and not display them (a proper prod setup), this is what I would have expected to happen, again, since a restart of the service fixed it.

I am aware of the php.ini file and i can see what we have in there and I am advised pdrain manages this component of the system.  BTW: The database server is on a different server and is not impacting capacity on the production server nanak.

What do you think about LIBRENMS?

I have tried to talk to bevans about this all week but his office door is closed most of the time. LOL

Do you know if there is a mobile device app for this product?

There isn’t one but the website is wholly responsive.

I have suddenly found that I can't get the "Like", "Informative" etc buttons to work. Any ideas please?

This is all related to DC issues currently being worked on.  The network issues increase the load on the RP servers and that in turn causes issues. Should be fixed today.

I know you mean in a different context but I have to laugh given how long it took to load this page.

Give the website a break, it's doing its best!

Yeah, look, in hindsight it was a poorly phrased comment.

Most of the time whenever I visit Railpage, the server is always having trouble and the site becomes unreachable.. Why?
You might as well revert Railpage to the original version 1 at least it had some problems but at least you could visit and log into Railpage and post threads or read forums, this 3.+ whatever keeps having too many issues after issues and keeps crashing

Maybe just skip the rest and call it Railpage 4.0 just shut it down for a few months and fix it right! Sorry admin but, it's rather frustrating. Evil or Very Mad

We understand it is as frustrating for us too.

It seems good right now, but for how long? I've lost count of the number of times we've had problems that are "fixed" but down the track (pun intended) are broken again.

Thanks to all who keep this site running we all appreciate the work that must be involved. Lockdown who have made it much harder to get around.

I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this query, but can anyone explain how you respond to multiple quotes in a single reply?

Quote the first post - and then you have to type the quote tags for the other quotes. It's a bit cumbersome.

So the basis is quote={username} and /quote in the square brackets.
