AR15's should be restricted, how many of the last umpteen shootings over there have been them?Only the American gun lobby would say that the people shot needed guns to defend themselves. Only the American gun lobby fails to see that this idea has never worked.Perhaps they should be made illegal, after all that worked with drugs and crime
but how do you "restrict"them? handguns and drugs are already "restricted"but seem to be able to be located by those who want them?
NRA advocates the gun as "home defense". smeg
"Orlando shooter supported conflicting Islamist groups that are fighting each other, FBI says"On the surface it looks like an attack against homosexuals, but then as you dig into his history and even talking to his exwife it seems that he may have actually been gay!
Seems like a nobody looking for a cause.
That's a gross generalization. I worked in Iran and the UAE for a short while. They are some of the most laid back dudes I've ever mixed with.
Homosexual sex in arab countries is illegal and punishable by a long term in prison so not to be reckoned with however the irony is arab countries like saudi arabia do not permit woman to date men or talk to men in the street etc. meaning there is a great deal of frustrated men living there who are unmarried. therefore it is no unusual for homosexual encounters to happen between men.
My guess is the shooter was a latent homosexual at war with him self. It's pretty common knowledge that blokes who go out bashing gays are usually latent homosexuals them selves.I think this is the core issue: The role of the religion in sending the bloke off the edge precisely because there was no way he could be a devout follower AND openly gay. I think Paul Barry on Monday night's Media Watch summed it up nicely when he observed that most of the media and politicians - including our own Malcolm Turnbull - were going out of their way to avoid acknowledging that fundamentalist Islam does in fact proscribe death to anyone they consider outside their model of the perfect human being and that there's no shortage of nutters out there willing to enforce it. Informative to see Malcolm squirm when Neil Mitchell asked him the simple question: Is Islam homophobic? He wouldn't answer. This was a rare time when I found myself in agreement with what Andrew Bolt had to say on the issue: It's high time we stopped showing respect for people's invisible sky fairies when they cause harm.
