Will the T's be left at the Rock to allow the C's to run the train back to Melbourne?

Are the C class left at The Rock due to weight rating on the branch line to Boree Creek? Or is there something I've missed?

My recollection is that there are silos at Yerong Creek just as there are at most stations on the South.
I have never seen wagons being loaded there and I couldn't say if the rail connection is still there.

The train was NOT 58 wagons long.

16 SSR hoppers were detached at Yerong Ck for temporary storage on 2 August and have not moved since.

They may be picked up this week, possibly with all 58 hoppers then going out on the first train for loading at Dimboola.

Thank you for the responses and especially to mr hall for his updates on the grain trains for SSR.

I shall watch the Gheringhap cameras closely today.

Thx bingley for updates but why store at Yerong creek if wagons are for dimboola traffic ?

If this all for Emerald then the business they run must be using silos other than graincorp but Dimboola is graincorp?

All for Emereld, buying and selling different grades is common among the grain co's, especialy if a ship needs topping up or some other event stops a train getting to a prefferred loading point.

Do they operate their own silos and where are they located at other points on the vic network?

Being GrainFlow they are a separate company to GrainCorp so maybe other operators can buy from them and have the grain transported to the port?

I saw some pics on FB of T381 at Seymour today suspended from two (very big) cranes having a bogie swap.  Is it going to BG or staying on SG?

Both T363 and T381 are being bogie swapped with P19 and P21. The T's will stay in Vic for lease to QUBE or pn loco trasferrs between Dynon and Bendigo as well as any other odd jobs. The two P's will be taken to Ettamogah for further storage sometime in the future

I would guess that the 16 grain wagons were stored at Yerong Creek due to the length of particular grain sidings further up the line limiting the train to a length of locomotives + 42 wagons. That is only a guess.

Another guess is they could have just needed maintenence and somebody at SSR saw that was the most conveniant location for said maintenence.

Confirmation of either theory being right or wrong would be great.

The maintenance option would seem unlikely to me unless they suffered damage enroute to Yerong Creek.
(But nothing surprises me anymore).
