There were some good timelapse video and aerial shots of Hornsby changes on 7 news tonight. You can watch (low quality) here: https://twitter.com/twitter/statuses/951351973437063168

And below the new view from the north end of platform 2 - not sure how trains from Gosford/Berowra will get to platform 1.

While the tracks at Hornsby are mostly bidirectional, there are more signals in the primary direction.

Hence the above picture shows 2 Up main line signals on the Up Shore very close together, with no close together signals Up the Down Shore.

Just as modifications to Automatic Signals took place between Hornsby and Turramurra (presumably as part or the Hornsby Junction remodelling) additional and altered signals are taking place further up the North Shore line, between Chatswood and Roseville.

Watch this space.

It is believed that extra and altered signals are being installed between Parramatta and Westmead.

Two or three years ago, extra and altered signals were installed between Waverton and St Leonards. One of the signals at Wollstoncraft and one at Lindfield were fitted with 4-white-light repeater signals due to sighting problems, sharp left hand curve at WLS and overbridge at LDD.

Any other places?

As the future signals are covered with black plastic, it is not possible to tell if the Lower Yellow Light is to be installed, though this is rather likely as the signals are more closely spaced than before. There is a future Down signal about 50m from the start of the platform at Roseville (with a repeater) which would be 200m or say from the Platform Departure signal. This would make a Lower Yellow likely at the previous auto signal. Note that many trains do not stop at Roseville, and suitable braking distances are required.
