Yes, really bad fires up there today, I believe that there a total of 81 fires burning across the state, here's praying that everyone keeps safe up there, what we have down in N.S.W at the moment with all the rain is nothing compared to what is going on up there at the moment Sad

Kind Regards

Even as the bushfire crisis rolls on in Queensland, the BOM is now forecasting that a tropical low near the Solomon Islands may enter the Coral Sea and could intensify into a tropical cyclone during next week.

That Tropical Low in the Coral Sea has had an eventful time over the last couple of weeks:
  • Intensified to become Category 2 Tropical Cyclone Owen
  • Degraded to become a Tropical Low
  • Crossed over Cape York Peninsula from east to west
  • Entered the Gulf of Carpentaria
  • Intensified to reform Tropical Cyclone Owen as it wandered across the Gulf
  • Now at Category 2 again, the models are predicting Owen will perform a u-turn and head east towards Cape York Peninsula again, probably intensifying to Category 3 tomorrow morning.

Hopefully drifts south inland bringing rain west of the great divide as it heads east again.

I am hoping it runs out of puff and just brings rain as a low. Current modelling is 50%, as it shows Cat 3 equally it could be a low.

Irrespective, hopefully no communities are harmed, but the rain is welcomed.

Too much rain isn't welcome either as most of it will run off before soaking in.
Hopefully farmers are nearing the end of their harvest (what there is).
